Stanwick Bowls Club is a friendly club welcoming people of all ages from Stanwick and the surrounding area.

We play outdoor lawn bowls during the summer months and indoor short-mat through the winter.

Some fine shots being played in a recent first round match of our gent's 2026 singles championship.

We hold a number of Club competitions throughout the summer bowling season. Entry is by no means compulsory, but most members relish the opportunity of a little friendly rivalry.

Today Charlie and Dave were competing in a first round match in our gent's singles Wetenhall Trophy knockout competition.

Charlie edged the game and will progress through to the second round.

Our hopes of ending the month unbeaten in matches against local clubs was dashed on Saturday afternoon when we were beaten in a tight game by Irchester.

No complaints from SBC as the victory was well deserved and we shall have the opportunity to level things up at the return fixture in July.

Despite that narrow loss our stats of P.7 W.6 for the month of May isn't bad going.

Next home match is on Saturday 6 June at 2pm. Spectators welcome.

SBC would like to thank everyone who came to our club for our open day on Saturday to try lawn bowls - some for the very first time!

We certainly enjoyed showing you the intricacies of our sport and the facilities offered by the club. Hopefully some of you will have enjoyed their afternoon enough to want to return.

If you were not able to attend this session, fear not! Anyone is welcome at our club at anytime. Complete beginners or experienced bowlers.

A reminder that our Club is open to all on the afternoon of Saturday 23 May between midday and 4pm.
Bring your own flat soled shoes and we will provide everything else you need for an enjoyable afternoon of lawn green bowling. There is no need to book, just turn up at a time that suits you.
Whether you are already an experienced bowler or complete novice of any age, you will be welcomed.
This is a great opportunity with no obligation to try a new sport. If you enjoy it we’d be delighted to see you again at our regular roll up sessions. You can attend 3 such sessions at no cost before deciding if you would like to take advantage of our new bowler’s half price membership offer.

Please come along to our Club on the afternoon of Saturday 23 May 2026 (turn up any time between midday-4pm) to find out what the buzz is all about. You will find us in Arris Lane - the track directly opposite the entrance to The Duke of Wellington car park.
Complete beginners or experienced bowlers of ANY age are welcome to check out our club facilities and try bowling on our high quality green under the friendly guidance of Club bowlers.

Whether you have plans to become world champion or are looking for a new hobby and the opportunity to meet new people while benefiting from fresh air and gentle exercise, bowls might be the ideal option for you.

Your visit to our Club will be totally obligation free, however if you decide to join us, we are offering FIRST YEAR HALF PRICE MEMBERSHIP.

Conditions varied between arctic and tropical for today's home match against Woodsend from Corby. Jackets were on and off throughout the afternoon and shorts may not have been the wisest choice.
Our opponents could only muster a team of 6, so we went ahead playing two triples games. It was a close one too with Stanwick edging a narrow 25 - 23 victory. It's not all about the result of course. We enjoyed the company of our visitors and look forward to the return fixture.
Our next home match is on Thursday 14th May at 2pm when we shall face nearby opposition from Finedon. Anyone is welcome into the ground to watch our matches. We look forward to seeing you.

On the evening of Saturday 9 May we honoured the winners and runners up of our various 2025/26 indoor short mat competitions.

It has been a very successful short mat season for Stanwick Bowls Club, with regular sociable roll up sessions, matches against local Northants clubs, and of course our well attended internal competitions.

Congratulations to all competition winners who can look forward to seeing their names added to the Club’s honours board.

A date for your diary!

Our annual open day will take place on the afternoon of Saturday 23 May. We would be delighted to welcome you to our club where you can enjoy bowling on our fine green. Club members will be on hand to offer guidance if needed.

We have a wide range of woods in varying sizes available for use, together with bowling arms - perfect for use by anyone preferring to bowl from a more upright stance.
