Amazing news 👏🏼🦁🩷⚽️

Durham Women FC is pleased to announce that local businessman and South Shields FC (“SSFC”) Chairman and co-owner Geoff Thompson, with backing from his co-investor at SSFC, has agreed to acquire a majority shareholding in the club - securing its future for the 2026/27 season and beyond.

Mr. Thompson brings a wealth of experience in North East football, having played a pivotal role in the growth of South Shields FC through investment in facilities, infrastructure, and community initiatives.

As part of the acquisition plan, club founders Lee Sanders and Dawn Hepple will remain as shareholders, while the existing executive management team will continue to lead the club’s day-to-day operations. This investment marks an exciting new chapter for Durham Women FC, providing a strong foundation for continued growth on and off the pitch. The club would also like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in investing during this process.

Support Coxhoe Lionesses U10s – Cleaning Up Our Village, One Bag at a Time!

The Coxhoe Lionesses U10s are raising funds for their team by giving something back to the community they love.

On Sunday 5th July, our amazing girls will be taking part in a sponsored litter pick around the village of Coxhoe, helping to keep our local area clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone.

The girls will be spending their time collecting litter and caring for the environment while working together as a team. Through this community effort, they hope to raise funds to support the continued development of the Coxhoe Lionesses U10s.

Every donation, big or small, will help us reach our goal and show the girls that their hard work and community spirit are valued.

Thank you for supporting our young players as they help make Coxhoe a cleaner place while raising money for their team. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

🚨 New signing alert🚨

Coxhoe lionesses would like to welcome their second new signing in as many weeks as we welcome Emma to the squad.

Emma has made an immediate impact in both training and matches, scoring 3 already.

She’s strong both on and off the ball and has great pace even when dribbling. When she’s in front of goal her left foot rarely misses.

She’s also recently picked up player of the week award too for her efforts in both training and match days. Emma comes with ideas to tweek practices which is refreshing to see at such a young age.
