Derwentside Athletic Club A friendly and welcoming athletics community for runners of all ages and abilities. Athletics Club based in Stanley which caters for all levels of ability.

The club has both a junior and senior section and training sessions are held regularly. Our experienced coaches can help you achieve your aim, if it is to just have fun or to compete for the club. Junior athletes train and compete in a variety of track and field events. senior athletes concentrate on running events. the club is friendly and welcomes new membrs to both the junior and senior sections.

A huge congratulations to Alan on an incredible achievement at the Lakeland 50!

Alan completed the gruelling 50-mile ultra marathon in an outstanding 11:56, smashing his goal of finishing in under 12 hours.

What an amazing performance on one of the UK’s toughest endurance events. Congratulations, Alan – a result to be incredibly proud of! 👏🏅

That’s the first month of Oakey Park Parkrun completed. It is fantastic to have this event in Stanley and see so many people running and walking each Saturday morning. Over 1,500 finishers and 150 volunteering roles completed in 5 events.

Thanks to the volunteers who worked hard over many months to bring Parkrun to the town and everyone who has helped make the events run smoothly By volunteering on Saturday mornings.

It was great to see our local Iceland on Scott Street supporting the event this morning with a donation of water.

Visit https://www.facebook.com/oakeyparkparkrun to find out how to get involved. Parkrun is for everyone a 5km (3.1 mile) run, walk or anything in between. All volunteer roles are easy to explain and don’t require excessive training.

Free, weekly, timed 5k parkrun for all ages and abilities. Every Saturday at 9am.
