A great comeback and win for the lads yesterday see’s our unbeaten run to the start of the season continue. We have another free week this Sunday due to our opponent’s requesting a free Sunday so Stanhope Show and team bonding for the lads it is. 🍻

(League 6/9/26)

After a week off we returned to league football yesterday as we travelled to Evenwood with a few of our boys looking a bit starry eyed from Wolsingham Show Saturday! However we took the lead when Sam McKellar played in Charlie Sanderson who turned well in the box and finished nicely. But the home sides forwards were causing havoc and they equalised shortly after. They went on to lead with a questionably offside goal. Justice was served next when Joseph Scott levelled the game when he looked to be offside too. It didn’t last long and we made a mistake that led to us going 3-2 down at half time. Early in the second half they extended their lead to 4-2. Then Ethan Armstrong clawed us one back with a brilliant goal from the edge of the box. This gave us a lift and we soon made it 4-4 when Ethan Peveller’s shot was saved but Nathan Bell followed it in. A stubborn evenwood started to tire and we shown great character to get the winner late on when Ethan Fairless’s cross was met by a fantastic Issac Emerson header! A very good 3 points. Subs Bell and J Milner. Not used A Lee and Robinson-Kirwin.
