TUESDAY KARATE IN CORRINGHAM
When children learn karate..they have fun, make friends and also learn to defend themselves through an understanding of distance, timing and technique. Children gradually gain a calm confidence.
We won't teach them to strive to be better than everyone else...just to be better than themselves.
Violence is seldom the solution....but self respect, friendship and cooperation can help them live a happier life. Karate is all about respect and living a long happy life.
Tuesdays 5.30pm at Wyldecrest Sports Country Club ., Herd Lane, Corringham.

If you have children that are home educated but you want them to meet new friends, then bring them along to any of our karate classes. Also if your child is in school but struggling...sometimes it's good to make friends outside school.
At karate it's easy to make friends as you always get a partner to work with. Karate is perfect for all types of personality whether introvert or extrovert as eventually all participants just learn to cooperate. And karate is not about competing..its about self improvement.
We have classes as follows
Thursdays 5.30pm in Corringham at Wyldecrest Sports Country Club
Fridays 5.45pm at Horndon on the Hill Village Hall
Sundays 9am at Pisea Eversley Leisure Centre
Mondays 6.30pm in Basildon at Barstable Social Club .
If any adults and secondary school age children want to start training together..then they can come to the Thursday session at the later time of 6.30pm. The Sunday session at 10am, The Monday session at regular time...or Wednesday at 7.30pm at Village Hall, Horndon on the Hill..
First 2 sessions are free then classes are on a pay as you train basis cash/card..so no contracts to tie you down.

It's important for kids of year 5/6 and secondary school age to have some places to go except school and hanging around the streets.
Not all kids enjoy "team" pastimes. Let your kids try karate. Karate is actually quite suited to thoughtful types as it is very structured and rewards hard work, and is based upon manners and cooperation.
Our classes at Wyldecrest Sports Country Club in Corringham Thursdays
Horndon on the Hill Village Hall Fridays
Eversley Leisure Centre Pitsea on Sundays
Barstable Social Club on Mondays are taking on starters throughout the year.
Our classes are on a pay as and when you train basis. No contracts. First 2 sessions free

Hello everyone..its Jill here from Sessen Ryu. A lot of people still search Google when looking for local classes. We haven't had Google profiles that long so don't have many reviews. If students/parents would like to leave a review for any of our classes or for Sessen Ryu in general then it would be most appreciated. Just enter sessen ryu karate in Google search. Each dojo is separately listed.

If you stopped training as an adult due to family/work commitments or maybe had a bad experience/felt you weren't at your peak/felt burnt out then try returning. Check out the class...put one toe tentatively back on the mat.
Ideally you want an instructor who isn't going to expect you to train like a 30 year old when you are in your 50s + ......and to be treated with respect by your instructor and fellow students.
These days we are all older and hopefully wiser...we understand that training in the dojo offers so many physical and mental benefits..we don't try to kid ourselves that we are going to be streetfighting everyday...or be elite athletes...we all age and need to adapt appropriately.
30 or 40 years ago the dojo would have been filled with mainly young men and the oldest would have been maybe 40 and that would have been the instructor. These days the youngest is often 40 !
We aren't a sport..we aren't MMA...its karate and its a lifelong pursuit.
Check out your old classes...see what one suits.

Well done to our year 6 student passing his first grading on his kobudo path at Eversley Leisure Centre. If any of our youngsters want to start kobudo we start teaching them from karate green belt and above.
