It’s Club Championships weekend at Burghley Park and our Greens Team have been starting at 4.30am to give themselves the best possible opportunity to prepare the course for our biggest tournament of the year.

These are just some of the scenes from Wednesday morning’s work on the greens, including sarrel rolling, double verti-cutting, an application of wetting agent, an irrigation cycle to wash the treatment into the upper profile, followed by topdressing and brushing.

We’re looking forward to seeing them put to the test over Saturday and Sunday. ⛳️

Wow, we’re still catching our breath after the weekend… 😮‍💨💗🤘

Our Captains, Louise and David ‘Inchy’, hosted an action-packed three day Captains Weekend, kicking things off on Friday with a Titleist Sponsored Roll Up Stableford Competition. Congratulations to Bill Sewell, who claimed the overall win with a fantastic 43 points. A special shout-out to Captain Inchy himself, who won Division 1 with an impressive 41 points (73 gross), including an eagle 2 on our 4th hole! 👏

Saturday’s Ladies Captain’s Day went full punk rock, and the Ladies certainly didn’t hold back! 👩‍🎤🤘
Punk and pink took over the golf course for the Team of 4 event, with Margaret Rippin, Ann Shuttleworth, Amanda Riches and Doreen Bilsdon taking the win. A huge shout out to everyone who embraced the theme and made such an incredible effort. The day was rounded off with an evening BBQ and Race Night in the Clubhouse, which was great fun and brilliantly attended.

Sunday’s Texas Scramble was the perfect format for perhaps a few sore heads! 😅 With a full tee sheet and some fantastic golf throughout the day, it was Richard Cook, Keith Duff, Richard Gilbert and Phil Hunt who took the Scramble honours.

Over the three days, Louise and Inchy raised an incredible £4,000 alone through the kind donations of members, with funds coming from raffle ticket sales and on-course competitions. Every penny raised will be donated to their chosen Captains’ charities: The Mutts Nutts Rescue Stamford, Breast Cancer Now and the Wellness Centre Peterborough. 💙

From everyone at the club, a huge thank you and congratulations to Louise and Inchy for putting on such a fantastic weekend for our members. It was brilliant to see the newly refurbished Halfway House in full use with a fantastic atmosphere buzzing around the golf course and clubhouse. A special thank you also goes to all of our volunteer members who supported the Captains throughout the weekend, along with our Pro Shop, Greenkeeping and Bar & Hospitality teams, who went above and beyond to help make the weekend such a success.

This is BPGC at its best. ⛳️

We received a mammoth 29 tonnes of sand during last week’s mini heatwave! 🥵☀️

While sandy beaches may have been more what the Greens team had in mind during the soaring temperatures, the team were out in the early mornings before it got too hot distributing fresh sand across the bunkers on the front nine, with topping up and upkeep continuing on the front and back nine this week.

The Greens team have been going the extra mile despite the conditions, hand-watering greens, approaches and other stressed areas across the course to help maintain top playing conditions during the prolonged hot spell.

A fantastic effort from the team, and one that everyone associated with BPGC can for sure appreciate.

👏⛳️ A shout-out to long-time BPGC members Lewin Auciello and Sanjay Nithiyalingam, who competed in their first-ever The Open Regional Qualifying event at Enville Golf Club yesterday.

A special mention goes to Lewin, who shot an outstanding one-under-par (71). By the end of the morning, he sat tied 6th before eventually finishing tied 16th overall in a highly competitive field.

The field featured elite professionals and amateurs, with only the top eight progressing to Final Qualifying. Among them was two-time European Tour winner Robert Rock (Q), highlighting the calibre of competition that Lewin and Sanjay were up against.

Congratulations to Lewin on a fantastic round, and thank you to both Lewin & Sanjay for representing Burghley Park 👏

Meet our new Head Chef, Dave! 🧑‍🍳⛳️

Although Dave joined the BPGC team around six weeks ago, we thought it was about time we gave him a proper welcome!

With 15 years of experience working in well-known pubs, bars and restaurants across Stamford and the surrounding areas, Dave brings plenty of passion and expertise to the kitchen.

He’s excited to take on this new challenge and be part of the exciting developments happening at the club. He’s already made his mark too, leading the launch of our new menu with healthier choices and more variety for members and visitors to enjoy.

👨‍🍳 Dave’s recommendation: his specialty Chicken or Halloumi Salad Power Bowls… DELICIOUS and quickly becoming one of the clubhouse favourites! 🥗🤩

Next on the tee! ⛳️

Perhaps the official sign that marks when the golfing season is back and ready to get underway is when golf moves back to main tee boxes. As we welcome April, golfers can one again enjoy Burghley Park at its full length — whether that’s for team matches, midweek or monthly medals, or leisurely play.

Our Greens team have worked hard over the winter to protect and preserve the tee-areas over winter, ready for right now and the summer of golf ahead.

A new season. New facilities. A new energy at Burghley Park! 🔥

We can finally say spring golf is here! The course is returning to its glorious seasonal colour, shaping up beautifully as we edge closer to the golfing season.

Off the course, it’s all happening.
This weekend, our brand new padel courts open. We can’t wait to see Padel in full swing at Burghley Park as we welcome members, locals and new visitors to .burghleypark launch day tomorrow, Saturday 21 March, ahead of full court opening on Monday 23 March.

And it doesn’t stop there…
Our state-of-the-art indoor golf SIM Studio is nearly ready to launch, bringing a whole new way to play, practice, socialise and compete all year round.

There is a real sense of momentum and excitement building at Burghley Park Golf Club. Stay tuned! 👀⛳️
