03/06/2026

On Saturday, we will be at the Lazy Crow Festival down at Borderville, to enjoy an afternoon of music and fun.

Amazingly, we have been chosen as their nominated charity/community group to support this year.

Everyone at Stamford Unity is so grateful for this, as it will help the club to grow stronger and to continue our massively important community football sessions.

We will be down there selling raffle tickets too, so please come on over and meet the gang and buy some tickets.

We can’t wait for Saturday 🎵 🕺

No rest for the wicked !

Another brilliant Sunday night training session!

After some of the lads spent all day playing in the Lincoln Invictus Tournament, they still brought great energy to training.

Man of the Match was shared by Luke and Andrew. Luke scored an incredible penalty to seal the award, while Andrew impressed with his powerful bullet shots on goal. Well done to both of you!

Louis kept everyone entertained by showing off his dance moves, bringing plenty of smiles to the session.

We also celebrated team birthdays for Sam and Matthew. Happy Birthday to you both - we hope you had a fantastic day!

A great way to finish the weekend. Well done, everyone!

Yesterday our Unity Tournament Squad attended the Stuart Waters-Manning Memorial Tournament with Lincoln Invictus Inclusive Football Club

A tournament played in memory Stuart Waters-Manning, one of their players who sadly passed away.

The day kicked off with some great words about Stuart and how he would have loved the tournament. This followed by a minutes applause to remember Stuart.

The games then came thick and fast against some big, well established teams from Bradford City DFC Derby County Community Trust Club Doncaster Titans

The games were played in a competitive but friendly manner.

After 8 games, we won 3, drew 2, lost 3 and narrowly missed out on the runners up spot.

We played some really smart football and scored some amazing goals, but the most important thing for us was to play with smiles on our faces.

Well done to all the other teams and we are looking forwards to next years tournament already.

Highlight of the day was when we lent our player Josh to Derby County, to even up the numbers, for him to only go and score a volley against us!!!!

How do you define progress?

“The in-between space where change is happening, even if you can't see it yet. Progress isn't linear or loud-it's honest effort, small wins, and learning along the way. Keep going. You're further than you think”

To the onlooker, having attended 2 tournaments all ending in defeat scoring 1 solitary goal, you could be forgiven for thinking progress is not being made.

However, within the group, we have been grasping the “small wins”
▪️A great Save
▪️A piece of skill
▪️Our first goal
▪️Supporting each other

As coaches, we see the progress made by this bunch of likely lads, but the challenge is to reinforce this to them in defeat.

“You played so well today “
“We are improving week by week”
“Stick together and believe in yourselves”

Yesterday our Stamford Unity Tournament Squad travelled over to Godmanchester for part 3 of the Inclusive Festival of Football.

And now the progress was there for everyone to see.

Our fantastic squad competed through all of their games and their hard work was rewarded with their first win.

I would like to say they celebrated like mad, but to be honest, they didn’t quite know what to do.

Winning is not everything but sometimes that positive result will fuel more confidence and belief.

Just as important as progress “on” the pitch, our boys are forging strong friendships within the squad, even though work needs to be done with the team photo.

Upwards and Onwards to our future events.

But Progress is being made ⚽️🦁🔴

Thanks to everyone for organising such brilliant tournaments and our sponsors Frontline Fascias & Orchard Windows Stamford for keeping the guys looking smart

Amazing session down at Stamford Unity with a highly skilled and competitive foot golf competition ⛳️

Shout out to Mike who got a whole in one, even if no one saw it.

We ended with the usual competitive game, with a barrage of goals.

Brilliant evening as usual, played with teamwork, friendship and togetherness

As far as Football weekends go, this will take some beating.

At the end of the week we celebrated Luke’s birthday which ended up with a brilliant surprise from his favourite Stamford AFC player Tom Jackson with him receiving a birthday video from the man himself, followed up by meeting Jacko on Saturday where he gave him a pair of his GK gloves before the last game of the season. Thanks again to Jacko for this, Luke was over the moon.

The gang then enjoyed the party atmosphere for the last game of the season and got to congratulate the coaches and players at full time for what has been a brilliant season.

On Sunday, our tournament team travelled to Godmanchester for the 2nd instalment of the Peterborough League tournament.

The boys are going from strength to strength and although we didn’t secure a win, we finally hit the back of the net. We have had feedback from opposition coaches and players about how well we are developing. A victory isn’t far off.

In the evening, we jumped straight back into our usual kickabout session. A 3 team bib battle warmed all the squad up. Followed up with some passing and shooting drills.

The session ended with our usual fun but always competitive match. The game ended in a 8-8 draw, with the highlight being the perfect team goal by the yellows, with every player in the team touching the ball.

Players of the week were awarded Luke/Sam and Hugo. Well done lads.

That brought an end to an action packed weekend of football. Have we had enough?
Of course not. See you next week
