Scorchio 🌞

It is going to be a very hot week so hydration will be vital for us runners more than ever. As well as drinking enough water it will be important to replace essential minerals lost through sweat 🥵
Electrolyte drinks, tablets and powders help replace these essential minerals, particularly sodium. If sodium levels are too low it can cause gastrointestinal distress, nausea, bloating and fatigue. To avoid this it is generally suggested that runners take around 800mg of sodium per litre of fluid during longer training runs and races 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏽‍➡️

It’s confirmed - next year’s London Marathon will be held over 2 days 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏽‍➡️

The race will be held on the 24th and 25th April and is great news for the 1.3 million people who have entered the ballot as now 100, 000 places will be available ❤️

The news is awesome for runners and charities alike with £150 million expected to be raised for good causes .

Yesterday Bog Dog ran the Nene Valley Trail 10 mile 💚

The Nene Valley Trail 10 mile is a well signposted trail course through some lovely North Northamptonshire countryside, starting and ending in Fotheringhay.

Bog Dog’s Laura and Helen thoroughly enjoyed it as did many Stamford Striders who were competing in the race as part of their Club Champs 💛💙

Tomorrow sees the start of the Peterborough 5K Grand Prix Series - sponsored by ourselves 💚

The Peterborough 5K Grand Prix series consists of 5 chip timed races held every fortnight from June - August. A firm favourite with the local running clubs, the races can either be entered in advance or on the night 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏽‍➡️

The first race is hosted tomorrow by Eye Community Runners at Lindisfarne Road, Eye 💚
