After 13 years as Head Coach at Priory Tennis Club, this next half term will be my last before i leave. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those i have coached (past and present) over the years, as well as the committee members who work so hard behind the scenes.
Among the many developments over the years at Priory since i started, a handful are:
Brand new courts replaced (all within the last 5 years)
New LED floodlights installed
Sport England grant allowing a full upgrade of the Clubhouse
Men's 1st team going from Division 7 to Division 1
Men's 2nd Team now going in the same direction
More Ladies playing the sport and now being integrated into the teams
A junior programme that has grown and developed over the years, and now has in excess of 120 children enjoying the sport on a weekly basis
A coaching team that has been developed along with lots of qualified Tennis Leaders
Plus many more memories and achievements along the way. Hopefully the club will continue to go from strength to strength.

For those wondering what i will do with my time....i will continue as Head Coach at West Heaton Tennis Club over in Stockport, where i live close by. My last day at the club will be on Saturday July 15th when i will be covering the morning classes before i drive off into the sunset.

Thank you once again for all your support over the years, and if i don't see you before i leave, then maybe our paths will cross again at some stage in the future.

Junior Tennis Camps, or holiday camps are run at West Heaton Tennis Club in Heaton Moor, and Priory Tennis Club in Stalybridge. During the holiday times, we run tennis specific camps for children aged between 5 and 15 at both venues.

Our EasterTennis Camps are now just around the corner, and can be booked online. Just click on the link below, and look out for the 'Priory Tennis Club' camps.
Our Camp dates are:
Tuesday April 11th to Friday April 14th x 4 days, and the camps run from 10am through to 3pm each day.
Camps are idea for children aged 6 to 16 years of age. We split the children into groups each day according to age and standard, and do lots of fun warm up, co-ordination and sport skill drills, before working on Racket skills and technique. The afternoon is putting it all together with some fun points, as well as group games. Always busy, with fully qualified coaches who ensure each child has a fun time and meets new friends!

At Priory Tennis Club, we have once again teamed up with Tameside Sport Development to offer HAF (Holiday Activity Fund) places to children who are Year 3 through to Year 6 at school. HAF funding is available to children who are in receipt of benefit related Free School Meals.
Those eligible will receive a Free 4 day camp, as well as a Free lunch provided by the club! Application forms can be obtained directly via Head Coach Andy Perry ([email protected]). Details will need to be checked, and places are limited, but if you know anyone who may fit the criteria then please share or forward on.

After Easter we have some brand new classes coming on board for children who have never played before, or perhaps played for half a term some time ago and want to give Tennis another go! The sessions will be geared towards new starters, so please feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested.
Both classes are aimed at children aged between 5 (or Reception at school) through to 8 years of age.

Our first Adult Beginner / Restarter course is now bookable online! Want to learn to play tennis, or perhaps you used to play when you were younger and want to get started again!
Well the 6 hour long Tennis Xpress Course is the ideal starting point. During 4 x 90 minute sessions, you will learn the correct technique for each shot, begin to learn how to rally consistently, and piece it all together so you can start to play singles and doubles before the end of the course.
Members or Non-Members welcome, and we have spare rackets if you haven't got one yourself. At the end of the course, you will be able to join the club and carry on improving and getting fitter each week!

Our September Junior Tennis courses are now available to book online. Junior courses are aimed at children from Reception year at school right up to Year 11, and are split into groups according to age and standard. We have classes running after school on Monday and Wednesdays, as well as Saturday mornings. Junior Starter courses now available at Priory Tennis Club, starting after Easter. Ideal for children In Reception year at school (currently) through to Year 3, these courses not only run for 6 weeks, but also provide each child with a Tennis Racket, Pack of Balls, T-shirt and a pair of wristbands. And all for £34.99 (including p&p for the equipment which is posted pre course!).

Learn to play Tennis the Tennis Xpress way at Priory Tennis Club in Stalybridge. Our 6 week Adult Tennis Xpress course will be starting on Sunday March 27th (5 - 6pm) and will run for 6 weeks. We will initially run 3 weeks up to the Easter holidays and then run the final 3 weeks afterwards to avoid any clashes.

Our next LTA Youth Start course (for children entering Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3) will run on Friday evenings starting on the 17th September (4pm to 4.45pm each week).
This fantastic 6 week course provide the children with all the skills to get them started, as well as each child receiving a Tennis Racket, Tennis balls, a T-Shirt and a pair of wristbands.
