Thanks to our generous sponsors, willing volunteers and heroic runners, this year's race raised an incredible £14,500 for local charities and deserving causes. Simply amazing!

We have been able to transfer funds this week to the following:

Daybreak
1st Egham Scouts
Holly’s Heroes
Home-Start Spelthorne
Laleham Camera Club
Manor Mead School
Penrose Club
Riverbridge PTA
Spelthorne Volunteer Drivers
Staines Helping Hands
Surplus to Supper
White Lodge Centre

A bit about these wonderful organisations:

DayBreak Respite Care offers a high standard of care, entertainment and delicious food to elderly and disabled people who are resident in the Borough of Spelthorne, whilst their carer takes a well-earned day off.

1st Egham Scouts run Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout section meetings weekly during school term time, preparing young people with skills for life. They run the main Staines 10K water station!

Holly’s Heroes is a charity dedicated to bringing moments of happiness, fun and joy to children and families affected by cancer by offering experiences that create lasting memories.

Home-Start Spelthorne is a voluntary organisation offering regular support, friendship and practical help to young families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family breakdown.

Laleham Camera Club is a small friendly camera club where everyone is welcome regardless of their skill level or camera. LCC take all the race photos for free and offer complimentary downloads.

Manor Mead School is a co-educational, state-funded special school located in Shepperton, Surrey, England. It provides highly specialised education for young children with complex needs.

The Penrose Club is a social club for adults with special needs, resident in the boroughs of Spelthorne, Runnymede and surrounding areas, supported by volunteers.

Riverbridge School PTA in Staines is a highly active, registered charity run by parent volunteers and school staff, raising extra funds that enrich the children's learning.

Spelthorne Volunteer Drivers specialise in helping the elderly and infirm residents of our borough get to their medical appointments with the minimum of fuss and expense.

Staines Helping Hands aims to be a dependable good neighbour to any Staines-upon-Thames resident who needs help, particularly older people, who may be unwell, isolated, have special needs or may be dealing with a difficult situation.

Surplus to Supper transforms surplus food into millions of meals for our community. Food from businesses that would otherwise end up in landfill is redistributed to food banks, and made into nutritious meals.

White Lodge in Chertsey champions inclusivity, dignity, and opportunity for individuals with disabilities and/or neurodiversity, fostering environments where every adult and child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Once again, thank you to our sponsors and supporters Rowberry Morris, Shanly Homes, Places Leisure Eclipse Leisure Centre, Visit Staines, Azets, Woodland Commercial, Tessa's Hair Club, Runners' Retreat, Thames Side Brewery, Staines Chiropractic + Other Therapies, AC Breeze Air Conditioning Ltd, Aquatek Window Cleaning, Laleham Camera Club, Julianelle Ices and Snow Moon Creations.

Good morning, from the ⭐️Award-winning Staines 10K Volunteer Committee Team⭐️!

We are delighted and still a little shell-shocked to share the news that we won the Mayor’s Cup at last night’s Runnymede & Spelthorne Volunteer Awards held at the prestigious Royal Holloway University.

“The Staines 10k volunteer committee have coordinated this popular running event every May for over 25 years. The event has grown year on year and sold out in under 24 hours this year! The committee coordinate everything and and on the day the race is marshalled by over 60 volunteers.”

As a result, over £100k has been donated to local worthy causes. 💙

We attended as finalists in the Volunteer Team Award category - congratulations to the other finalists including Egham Orbit parkrun and the category winner, Friends of White Lodge.

Thank you to everyone who plays a part in bringing Staines 10k to our little corner of the world every year, including sponsors and runners! Details of the beneficiaries of this year’s charity pot will be shared soon.

Some committee members were not able to attend but were very much there in spirit ⭐️

We'd like to say a huge thank you to Egham 1st Scouts who've volunteered at Staines 10K for many years. Stationed about halfway through the course they expertly dispense water for hot and thirsty runners and clear away used (biodegradable) cups.

We are truly grateful for community support like this. Thank you to the Scouts, parents and leaders for organising the water station.

Who were your biggest supporters today? Mick from AC Breeze Air Conditioning Ltd had a fab little crew!
