Having put on at least a stone and half (10kg) during the lock down I decided it was time to do something about it. I’ve joined commercial gyms before but never really had much success so when I saw Fresh Image open, I wanted to try something different. I popped in and met Jim who I immediately got on with. I explained to Jim what I wanted to achieve (weight loss combined with getting stronger) and we immediately set about it.
Every now and then you meet someone who truly enjoys what they do and is an expert their chosen profession, Jim is one of these people and it shows. He has taken the time to explain what we are doing and more importantly why we are doing it, which makes doing it a lot more fun, especially when you start to see results. The training routines are always slightly different, making use of stuff I never even thought of before in the gym which keeps it fresh, and the music choice is always on point!

I can genuinely say I like going to the gym now, it’s very welcoming place that has a close knit feeling with very approachable team.

When I first came to Fresh Image Training I was, overweight, unhealthy and had no friends. Now, just 6 years later I am a good weight and very healthy.

The best part of my day is when I can get down to the gym and make the staff talk to me. I mean I know they are getting paid to be there but they are only a pending Facebook friend request away from being my mates.

If I could change anything about the Fresh Image Training gym it would be that there would be no more people allowed to come in so I could have my new friends all to myself. But I guess that’s just me being greedy, come on down and you can be my friend too!!

Fresh Image Training is a super place to train. I’ve known Glenn and Jimmy for a long time and they’ve worked really hard to create a relaxed and chilled space with no egos to train in. Both of them are approachable for coaching tips or at least what’s good on Netflix this week, you might even catch Jimmy singing or dancing.

I look forward To every session each one has been varied and different and I’ve noticed big improvements even after a couple of weeks even learning to love the assault bike

Also there are dogs however mine is usually preoccupied with licking my sweaty head or putting his head under a bar

So, here it is… the reason you can’t go to work tomorrow. The Battle Rope x Assault Bike killer.

“So how do I do it guys?”

Calm down and let us tell you, jeeeze.
So you need to be able to time rest as well as working time separately: then complete 5 mins of work on the battle ropes, but also recording how much rest you needed.
Then you need to match the rest time on the assault bike, pushing as hard as you can for the full duration.

So… Do you either go real hard at the battle ropes and then have less time on the assault bike or save your energy and have to do more on the bike. The choice is yours.

My guy Subash, early morning warrior. A pleasure to train and an insane work ethic, here is what the man himself has to say 🗣

“I am so proud and lucky to meet Glenn in my life journey. It’s been almost 8 years I know him. When I met him on 2013 I was just 48 Kgs and had lot of poor diet and sleeping habits. Now I am 75 kgs and the healthiest I’ve ever been.

I told Glenn, I want to prove myself that I am fit. I didn’t have any idea about what is the meaning of fitness and diet before I met Glenn.

I am the first person he meets early morning at 05:30 AM in these 8 years. Sometimes I said 04:30 AM on Sunday morning. He still said yes to me. The main thing which I always get is inspired from him his punctuality and focus on attaining my goal. All his workout plans are tailor made and he knows exactly how to get your best out of yourself. I can bet, you never can cheat him on reps. He is too sharp on reps. Nutrition is the other thing which I want to mention. Since I am vegetarian, he took lot of time for me to make sure I still get my macros sorted. Because he is so passionate on what he does, he does with lot of happiness and goes beyond your expectation.”

How often are you squatting? 🏋️‍♀️🔢

Skinny chicken leg no calf is a real condition, it can be described by your doctor or gym bullies. Many men are scared to talk about this issue and hide from it…….. hide no more my friends we can fix this one squat at a time! 🐓🍗

Ok but seriously, how many times are you fitting squats into your weekly routine? The benefits of squatting don’t not need to be restricted to only ‘leg day’……

Squats improve….
👉Strength
👉Core
👉Increase athletic ability and range of movement
👉Reduces risk of injury by strengthening the muscle in the lower body
👉Burns calories
And many more…..

They are many variations of squat and you don’t always have to go heavy but you should be doing it more than once a week!
