STRENGTH IN DEPTH ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Extremely proud of the Team today: 10 out of 12 of the team who competed have been selected for English Schools, 3 more than last year ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Of course itโ€™s not all about selection - itโ€™s about effort, perseverance and an athletes personal journey but we should still recognise and celebrate achievements along the way, especially at this level!

English Schools is the highest national standard ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ which will see Staffordshire competing against 45 other counties and over 2200 of the best athletes in the country.

To send 10 athletes from our team, demonstrates the strength in depth that we have in the team and is testament to their hard work, consistency and resilience.

Well done Team. Next stop Liverpool, Sefton Park in March โžก๏ธ

Olivia joined the team early in 2025 and made an immediate impact. Her commitment, consistency, and work ethic have been first-class from day one, and that investment has now paid dividends earning selection for the England Orienteering squad at the Interland Cup, France. The event will see 42 athletes represent their countries in the annual five-nation Interland competition.

Well done, Olivia โ€” fully deserved.

Race 2 in the series, with European champs selection up for grabs. Liverpool did not disappoint, mud, blood, sweat and tears ๐Ÿ˜ค

Some very strong runs from the lads. Special shoutout to finishing 11th in the U15 race and 7th in the U17 race. Great to see back from injury. Solid from and getting some winter strength ahead of him focusing on 400s next year.

Today, we competed at the ERRA National Road Relay Championships held at Sutton Park, in some very challenging, windy conditions. The event followed the traditional 3-stage road relay format, with each athlete running 3.88km.

We entered four teams in total โ€“ two in the U15 age category and two in the U17 category. Each age group saw over 100 teams competing, making for an extremely high standard of racing.

Highlights included:
โ€ข U15 Team finishing an phenomenal 8th place
โ€ข U17 Team placing an outstanding 11th
โ€ข Strong performances from all athletes, with particular resilience shown by who completed the final kilometre of his leg with only one shoe after losing a trainer mid-race!

These results underline the growing depth and quality within the team; consistently proving ourselves against the best athletes and teams in the country ๐Ÿ“ˆ

This success is a testament to the athletesโ€™ dedication, hard work and resilience, the trust in the training programme, and the invaluable support from our coaches and parents ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ

Well done lads!

๐ŸŒ 4TH IN THE WORLD โ€“ XTERRA World Championships ๐ŸŒ

The XTERRA World Championships is an invite-only event, with qualification earned through top performances at races around the globe. Earlier this year, secured his place at Weston Park by finishing second behind the reigning Youth B World Champion.

This yearโ€™s Championships took place in Molveno, in the Dolomites, Northern Italy โ€” the final time the event will be staged there for the foreseeable future. The demanding race format consisted of:

โ€ข 750m lake swim (glacier-fed)
โ€ข 16km mountain bike course (2km flat, 8km continuous 500m climb, 6km technical descent)
โ€ข 5km cross-country run (mix of roads, fire roads, rugged undulating trails, and a fast gravel descent to the finish)

Ben delivered an outstanding performance:
โ€ข 11 min swim
โ€ข 59 min MTB (5th fastest overall)
โ€ข 21:30 run (2nd fastest of the day)

From a field of 117 athletes (across Youth B & Junior), Ben finished 8th overall, and an incredible 4th in the Youth B category (65 athletes), placing just behind the reigning Youth A and Youth B World Champions.

This result is a testament to his dedication, resilience, and world-class potential.

Weโ€™re super proud of him, well done Ben!
