When we're born, we're wet, crying and covered in goo.

As time goes on we cry less and try new things

We want to become more independent so we go from not moving to crawling to walking.

But the first time we try and stand up we fall over, because we don't have the balance yet

Imagine if we had stayed down

A bunch of adults crawling around on our hands and needs because we decided it was too difficult and to be happy with crawling?

But we all slogged away right?

Kept going, little steps at a time

The same goes for where you are now

You didn't put that excess weight on by having 1 big meal, or choccy egg or whatever

It's the consistency of a said habit or behaviour

The same goes for getting in shape and fit

If you eat healthier, less ultra processed food more than you eat it your body and mind will thank you

If you move more than you sit down your body will change. You will have definition and you will have more energy and feel better.

Your everyday actions don't need to be perfect but they do need to be more consistent to see change.

Being consistent will see change.

Just don't stop

It can sometimes seem daunting looking at getting 10k steps a day (what most fitpros say to aim for) as someone who has to look after kids or may have an office job.

If you focus on the small added extras you can do to get that bit more it adds up quickly and before long you are a lot further forward than you ever thought and you won't feel like you've really changed.

But now you have solid habits

That you can build on

And even if you fall back you will fall back on your better habits.

Try it

See what happens.

Let me know in the comments the small habits you are doing now to build up

Steps trackers are everywhere now

On your phone

On your watch

Even in some glasses

But what do they really mean and what is the benefit?

The average adult will complete around 2000 steps per day just around the house going to the fridge, toilet and other tasks

But did you know that studies feel that anything under 5000 steps is classed as sedentary?

Paired with an unhealthy diet this could spell trouble

It really isn't difficult to increase activity

👉park a bit further away from your objective

👉take stairs instead of lift or escalator

👉use the further toilet or printer at the office

👉if desk bound set a timer every hour to do a quick circuit of the office

It will all add up and every little helps

What other ideas have you got to boost your steps

The revolution has been happening since the early 1900s when the was first held.

Womens contributions to the world is massive and often goes unseen.

All of the awesome women I have the privilege to coach are mums, busy professionals, hard workers and everything in between.

Being part of an amazing community in makes me proud that there is a place that women feel comfortable to truly take up their rightful space and to feel confident, strong and supported.

So here is to another international womens day and to many more....

Summers coming and the temptation will be to reach for the tempting products and programs promising "amazing results" and sticking you on a s**t stupid low calorie in some instances as low as 500 calorie diet 🤯

Please listen to this first...

We are all different and all have different requirements especially when it comes to intake

However there are certain things I promote to everybody

1. Water/flavoured water (squash) is king. You need to be hydrated or else you will feel crappy and the brain cues for thirst are the same as hunger so you are more likely to snack. Aim for between 2-3litres of water per day, more if sweating.

2. Eat veg with main meals. I don't get my clients to track veg or salad, plainly because it is a massive aid to feeling full and it is low in calories to bulk out meals and full of the nutrients your body needs so you have more energy and feel better. You aren't bodybuilding so you don't need a bodybuilders diet.

3. Move. We are now so sedentary that it is getting dangerous. Get a cheap step tracker or most phones have a tracking app. Track for a week, see where you are average and add 500 steps average per day.

4. Keep a record of what you are eating, nibbles can add up and it also creates mindfulness with what you are putting in your body. See where you could make simple changes. Feeling peckish within 2 hours of main meal? Make it bigger with veg or salad

These are just 4 simple things to include to help feeling better day to day.

So last night came and went and now you're looking forward to the new year.

What are your plans?

How are you going to do them?

I had a conversation with a new client the other day which started "what do I need to take for X?"

The things which bring the most help to you including balancing hormones, getting rid of fat and giving you energy are things you can fit in easily in whatever lifestyle you lead.

No stupid workouts

No silly supplements

No stupid fad diets which you won't stick to

Please reach out if you're feeling like some free advice how to get started easily.

When you decide you would like to make a change there are many reasons that you will have picked.

It could be that you don't like the way you look, the way you move, you're struggling to carry out tasks, you just simply want to feel better in yourself, the lst goes on...

The information available can feel overwhelming but every woman that I coach starts at the same point

"Where are you now"

"What are you doing now that could change for the better"

I ask this as a question and this normally gets varying replies. Most women know that it could be a bit better but because they are so busy and their headspace is full they struggle to see where they could change.

The start of my 12 week program is just that.

A few days to jot down where you are now and then putting in an action plan around your ACTUAL habits, not made up ones.

In January I will be splitting my 12 week program in to an initial free 4 weeks which will give anybody an amazing start to the year with healthier nutrition habits that anyone can do.

Simply drop a comment below that "I want in" or drop me a dm and I'll make sure you're on the list

So Saturday night came and went

First off the question that I keep being asked, how did it go?

Unfortunately not my way.

A misjudgement on my part in the first round I feel cost me but I went the full 3 rounds and others have told me it it was close.

It was an amazing experience and I've learnt so much in just 8 weeks. I spoke to a friend who used to box and he said it was 2 years before he had his first fight.

The depth of skill, knowledge and unconscious actions required for boxing is massive and can only come with repetative actions overtime.

But I gave it my best shot and stepped up to try something that 99% of people wouldn't do and I'm proud of myself for that.

My message to you is of you have something niggling in your head that you could do that could make you feel amazing then try it.

You will never regret what you tried, only the things you didn't.

With just over 2 weeks to go all my training has ramped up

I've learnt a few things on this experience:

1. Boxers have my respect. It's easy to sit on the edge and shout how it should be done but going for rounds at a time continuing to concentrate is tough

2. The fitness is insane. There is no let up. If you aren't hitting, you're blocking which takes your strangth or moving which takes your stamina.

3. 2 minutes sparring is the longest 2 minutes ever

4. The more you get hit, the less you worry about it and more how to counter it.

We are all doing this for charity so here is my link below. I'd love to try and get as much as I can:
