A Huge Congratulations to our 4 Valued Volunteers nominated for the RFU National Volunteer Awards 🙌 Imogen was nominated in the “Keeping Players in the Game” Category 👏 Andrew Keeling and Brian Cole in the “Unsung Heroes” Category 👏 and our Skipper Matt Skelton in the “Game for All” one 👏 Imogen as our Physio and main First Aider has worked tirelessly to keep our lot fit and injury free 🏥 Andrew has been active for years in the background securing valuable sponsorships for our Club , Brian is the organiser of our annual Charity Golf Day that is now one of the post popular date in our Social Calendar and finally Matt , our 1st Team Captain has been one of the driving force behind the playing Squad ensuring that everyone gets as much playing time as possible 🏉 Thank you to them and to all our wonderful Volunteers without which our Club would simply not exist 🧡❤️🖤

Last Night our Players had a bit of a celebration to mark the end of the season 🍻 It was the opportunity for a few Awards to be dished out some more serious than others 🤭 A great evening followed by an obligatory visit to some of Stafford’s most reliable drinking establishments 🙌 A more formal Club dinner is planned on the 19th of June at the White Eagle Club 💃 🕺

Let’s not worry about scores today 😅 We sent 2 teams out in Glorious weather and let’s just say that Rugby was the winner in both 🫣 Today was the conclusion of a great season for both teams , one that saw our 1st Team do enough to secure its future in County 3 having just won promotion last season and our 2nd Team play 12 fixtures , something we had not seen in a long while 🙌 Today’s Men of the Matches are .tom for 1st and (Josh) for 2nd !! Well done everyone and thank you 3rd XV for one of the best spirited games all season ❤️

Here we are Everyone!!! Last Saturday of Rugby 😢 Our 25/26 Seasons draws to a close with our 1st XV hosting while our 2nd XV travels to to play against their 3rd XV (our Merit League fixture against 2nd XV was forfeited by them) 🏉 Both games kick off at 3 pm 🕒 Good luck to all the players , especially to the few new faces having their first run out for Saints in the Second Team 💪

FRIDAY 1st of MAY will be our (now) Annual Charity Golf Day ⛳️ organised at Stafford Castle Golf Course and all in support of 2 great charities 🙌 and MND ❤️ there are still a few spots available to play and we welcome anyone wishing to sponsor the event or simply make a donation 👍 simply DM us for more information ✉️

Scores on the Doors … Mathematically not a Great afternoon for either Teams - 1st concede 64-14 and 2nd concede 39-12 - but both teams played their hearts out and both games were played in great spirit 🏉 Once again RUGBY is the winner !! Our joint 1st team Men of the Match are Will Rowley ( ) and Farai Munjodzi ( ) 👏 and our 2nd XV Man of the Match is Jason Wilshaw ( )who at 55 decided it would be a good time to hang his boots … we shall see about that 🤫😁

Our President Terry Griffin took the Opportunity of the Pre Match Lunch to present Martin Cleary (ex and ex player) with an engraved Flask and officially making him a Vice President of our Club. Martin started playing Rugby with St Leonards back in 1979 before joining and eventually joining Eccleshall Rugby Club towards the end of his playing career. Martin has remained throughout a Great Friend of our Club and of his former Teammates
