⭐️ End of Season outing and presentation ⭐️

What a season it has been for our Mavericks. You have all worked so hard and it is so amazing to see how you have progressed and developed but most importantly how you continue to grow and support each other as a team.

As coaches, we are so proud of your efforts and all that you have achieved this season.

🏆🏆⚽️ Gnosall Tournament Champions ⚽️🏆🏆

A lovely morning for a football tournament on Saturday and the football on the pitch played by the Mavericks did not disappoint!!

We quickly realised that the pitch was very wide and if we moved the ball quickly into the wide areas there was plenty of space for our quick wingers and defenders on the overlap to attack and create chances. We played some lovely football through the group stages and the semi finals scoring 9 goals on our way to the final. You could see the team were enjoying themselves and really in the mood.

Once again our defence was solid throughout. Over 2 tournaments, 11 games in total we conceded 2 goals… 9 clean sheets which is an incredible stat.

Finals are always a different game, anything can happen, nerves, excitement….. a roller coaster of emotions. We couldn’t have started the final better, an absolute worldie of goal from Freddie, a good run from his own half to beat a couple of players crossing the half way line, it opened up for him and he unleashed a shot into the top bins!! 🗑️ 🔥

From there we controlled the game, keeping the ball well. The cherry on top, came at the end of the game, when a corner came out to the edge of the box for a waiting Elliot to hit an absolute rocket top corner to secure the title!!

What I loved most about the tournement was the team spirit and how much fun the team had on and off the pitch.

⚽️ last Sundays Game Day ⚽️

Another strong and dominant performance from our Mavericks. Every player from the keeper to the forwards played really well.

It’s now great to see the team consistently playing well and consistently playing lovely football. Confident with playing out from the back to create overloads and gaps in attack.
There was also another hat trick from Harry!⚽️

🏆MPotM & PPotM🏆 - Elliott - this was Elliott’s best performance of the season. He was confident on ball, always positive and lead the press well and put in a right shift. To top it off, he did a lovely zidane turn followed by a rocket of a shot outside the box which hit the bar, deserved a goal! 🥅

MPotM - ⭐️ Archie - Archie is getting more and more confident every week. Every time he got the ball he was brave and positive and dangerous, always trying to create either going down the wing or cutting in. When the team needed him he worked hard to get back and put some big challenges in.

PPotM - ⭐️ William - Will.i.am was outstanding, as always, an absolute rock at the back but on the ball his distribution and decision making was brilliant. He has become a real leader for this team!

⚽️ Match day vs Cannock Town ⚽️

Wow, what a performance from the Mavericks!

Before the game I spoke to the team about showing the progression and development they had made from the last time we played this team. This was the perfect match to see how far we had come.

Every player was outstanding today from the back to the front. We were aggressive, not giving the opposition a sniff, the communication and talking at the back was brilliant.

On the ball we played some great football. Playing out from the back, creating overloads, keeping possession and then being quick and direct in the final third. It was great to watch.

Some cracking individual goals including a volley from Ted and a cracking free kick from Fredz, but most of the goals came from great team moves.

MPotM - ⭐️ Charlie - to be honest it was very a difficult decision today, there were so many good performances but there were a couple of magical moments from Charlie in centre midfield that stood out for me including receiving on the half turn and some pin point long range through balls. 🎯

PPotM - ⭐️ Freddie - Fredz is stepping up as one of the leaders of the team, he is solid at the back, strong and physical but he’s just as strong, positive and creative going forward, a real asset to the team. He also scored a cracking free kick which came off the bar and in.

Well done Rangers, another amazing performance, let’s keep this going to the end of the season! ⚽️⚽️

⭐️ ⚽️ Match day vs Penkridge Warriors ⚽️ ⭐️

I asked the team before the game to show consistency and to use last week as the foundation to level up and the team did not disappoint. From start to finish they dominated the game keeping possession well, playing some great football, out from the back, quick and imaginative in the final third. It was really good to watch.

Every player was brilliant today, definitely a top 3 performance of the season

MPotM - ⭐️ Harry - I tried Harry in a new position today, out wide and he was dangerous, positive and brave every time he got the ball….. oh and he only scored the 4 😉

Ppotm - ⭐️ Noah - Noah set the standard in the first minute in the game with a cracking save. He made some great saves, handling was outstanding and distribution again was very mature. He was always part of playing out from back which has been a key part to how we play.
