A little glimpse behind the scenes at T H equiwear.

We design our own products and make our patterns in-house, which means we can take an idea and develop it into a properly finished, practical product.

Pattern making is such an important part of the process. Getting the shape, proportions and fit right at this stage makes all the difference when it comes to the finished item.

And it's not just our own equestrian products that benefit from these skills — we've also had businesses outside the equestrian industry come to us for pattern making and development, helping them turn their ideas into workable products.

It's one of those parts of the business that happens quietly behind the scenes, but it's a skill we're really proud to have. 🧵

🖨️ Another little behind-the-scenes glimpse…

Our labels are being printed ready to go onto our latest T H equiwear products.

Just like our patterns, we design and print our labels in-house, giving us control over how our products are presented from start to finish.

It might seem like a small part of making a product, but we think those details matter. From the initial idea and pattern, through cutting and sewing, right down to the label — we like keeping as much as possible under our own roof.

And yes, that means sometimes our workshop gets a little chaotic! 😂🧵

🐴 Making room in the workshop!

Another look at some of our fleece bridle bags — and a few of these are now reduced to clear.

We're making some changes to our fabric stock and need to free up valuable workshop space, so some of our discontinued patterns and colourways are being offered at special reduced prices while stocks last.

The bags themselves are made to the same standard as always, with a full-length zip, carry/hanging loop and secure internal bridle fastening.

Once these patterns have gone, they won't be coming back, so if there's one you've had your eye on, now is the time to grab it! 👀

We're continuing our workshop clear-out, and some of our fleece saddle covers are now reduced to clear.

We also still have a few matching sets of saddle covers and bridle bags available in selected patterns. 🤎

Perfect if you like your horse's kit to match, and a great opportunity to pick up a coordinated set before these discontinued colourways disappear.

As always, these are made here in the UK and are ready to dispatch, so there's no waiting for them to be made.

A set of navy bandages getting their T H equiwear labels sewn on before heading off to their new home. 💙

We design and print our own labels in-house, and then sew them onto our products here in the workshop — another little part of the process that we keep under our own roof.

It's these finishing details that turn a practical product into something that feels properly finished and proudly ours.

A couple of behind-the-scenes photos from an exercise sheet we've recently made, showing the darts being put in.

Those darts aren't just a decorative detail — they're an important part of the construction. They allow the fabric to take shape around the horse's hindquarters, helping the sheet sit correctly rather than simply hanging flat.

Getting the shaping right is one of those details that can make a real difference to how a finished product fits and functions.

It's all part of our approach to making horsewear that is practical, properly designed and made with purpose.

The saddle cloth is now finished and ready to be carefully packed up and sent on its way to its new home.

From cutting and shaping, through to quilting and all those little finishing details, there's quite a lot that goes into making a saddle cloth before it reaches this stage.

Now it's had its final check, it's ready to be wrapped up and posted. 🧵📦

We love that moment when something we've designed and made in the workshop is finally ready to leave us and start being used.

🧵 More than just a pretty pattern…

Here's a saddle cloth having its quilting lines sewn in.

The quilting isn't simply there for appearance. Those lines help stabilise the layers of fabric and wadding, keeping everything securely together and helping the finished saddle cloth retain its shape through use and washing.

It's one of those construction details that you might not notice, but it makes a difference to the durability and longevity of the finished product.

You may also sometimes spot something interesting on a brand-new saddle cloth — chalk lines!

Before sewing, we mark the quilting pattern onto the fabric with tailor's chalk. The chalk is designed to wash out, so those lines will disappear when the saddle cloth has its first wash. 🫧

So if you receive a brand-new saddle cloth from us and spot some chalk marks, don't worry — they're meant to be there! 😂

It's all part of the process of making our products properly, rather than simply putting layers of fabric and wadding together and hoping for the best.

We've been busy behind the scenes photographing our fleece bridle bags ready to update our eBay listings, so you'll soon be able to see the full range more clearly.

Our bridle bags are designed with practicality in mind, with a full-length zip, carry/hanging loop and secure bridle fastening inside, and they're made here in the UK.

We're also going to be having a little stock clear-out shortly, with some discontinued patterns and colourways being reduced to make room for what's coming next.
