Iโ€™m not a doctor or a psychiatrist. Iโ€™m an ADHDer with 45 years of lived experience of ADHD and autism.

My hyperfocus has become leaning the science behind ADHD โ€” particularly the role dopamine plays in motivation, focus, behaviour and the choices we make โ€” and exploring practical ways we can support our brains through everyday lifestyle changes.

I wasnโ€™t taught about ADHD in a classroom. Iโ€™ve lived it.

I was expelled from two schools. I grew up believing I was the โ€œnaughty one.โ€ I carried a lot of that into adulthood and eventually turned to drugs and alcohol as a way of coping.

Learning about the science of ADHD was a genuine lightbulb moment.
For the first time, I began to understand why my brain worked differently. Instead of only seeing the difficulties ADHD had caused in my life, I started recognising the strengths that could come with it when I learned how to channel them.

Today, Iโ€™m 11 years sober and a Guinness World Record holder in triathlon.
I created my 8-Part ADHD Wellness Programme to share what Iโ€™ve learned and help other ADHDers better understand themselves, their brains and the lifestyle factors that can support their wellbeing.

We explore practical areas such as dopamine, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, routines, connection and healthy habits โ€” with the aim of finding realistic changes that work for your ADHD brain.

Iโ€™m not against ADHD medication. It can be extremely helpful for many people, however, I chose to manage my ADHD naturally. The ADHD meds made my autism shine through more and I lost my personality - each to their own!
My role is different: I offer peer mentoring based on lived experience, education and practical lifestyle support.
And that lived experience matters.

Peer mentoring can be powerful when mentor and mentee genuinely connect. There can be a different level of trust when youโ€™re talking to somebody who doesnโ€™t just understand the theory, but has potentially walked a very similar path themselves.

If youโ€™d like to find out whether Iโ€™m the right person to support you, I offer a FREE 30-minute introductory session where we can simply talk about your ADHD, the challenges youโ€™re facing and how
I may be able to help.

Sometimes understanding your brain is the first step towards changing your life.

** HEADTEACHERS & SEND LEADS & PARENTS **โ€” ADHD Awareness Month is coming this October. Is your school helping pupils understand what ADHD actually is?

Following the recent, widely criticised Channel 4 ADHD documentary, I believe itโ€™s more important than ever that young people, teachers and parents have access to clear, evidence-informed education about the science behind ADHD.

Throughout October 2026, Iโ€™ll be visiting schools with my talk:
FROM ADHD & ADDICTION TO A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER

I combine the latest neurodiversity science with my own lived experience โ€” from struggling with ADHD and addiction to understanding how my brain works, getting sober and ultimately using those same ADHD traits to achieve a Guinness World Record in triathlons.

The session explores:
* ADHD brain structure, hormone regulation and how these impact our behaviours
* The role of dopamine in motivation and mental wellbeing including the impact of screens and social media, diet and sleep
* How simple life style tweaks can really help our focus, motivation and improve academic achievement
* How understanding our individual brains can help young people work with their strengths rather than constantly fighting against them

๐ŸŽ“ ADHD Awareness Month School Offer: ยฃ295 per school + travel
๐Ÿ“… Limited October dates now available.

For bookings, drop me a PM or email [email protected].

Parents - please share with your schools or tag organisations if you think more scientific ADHD knowledge would benefit them - thank you!

Receiving feedback from my clients is super rewarding and it's a lovely feeling to know I can help people from the very first session!

It was very humbling to receive this feedback from the Mother of a teen girl after our first meeting on Friday. It's also super satisfying to see the cogs aligning and my mentees faces as they finally start to understand exactly why they think, feel and behave the way they do! You can literally see their faces light up with new energy as they have their lightbulb moment.

Many people think they know about ADHD but it my experience they really don't! Understanding the neuroscience and the role of dopamine is absolutely key.

If you'd like to learn more then please get in touch.

My sessions are part ADHD education, part talking therapy and part working with you to build a forward plan to thrive.

I offer a FREE 30 min session to find out more, drop me a message to book in.

Due to the nature of my work I only take on new clients once I have finished with my existing people. Looking at mid September start for new clients if you'd like to join my waiting list.

After your FREE 30min consultation costs are:
* ยฃ40 per hr for single ADHD talking therapy sessions
or
* ยฃ295 for 8 x 1hr 121 sessions as we work through my 8 part ADHD wellness course (ยฃ36.87 per hr)

๐Ÿง  The Science of ADHD & The Six Pillars of Health ON LINE talk Monday 10th August 2pm.

Due to several requests from people across the UK and further a field I'm now doing an on-line session!!!

ADHD is often misunderstood as simply โ€œpoor focusโ€ or โ€œtoo much energy.โ€

In reality, itโ€™s a complex neurological condition affecting motivation, emotions, behaviour, and relationshipsโ€ฆ.and the star of the show is dopamine!

In this engaging on-line one-hour talk, Andy Stone combines the latest science, psychology, and lived experience to explore what ADHD really is and how people can work with their brain rather than against it.

Youโ€™ll learn about:
๐Ÿ”น How the ADHD brain differs from the neurotypical brain
๐Ÿ”น The role of dopamine and reward systems
๐Ÿ”น Why emotional highs and lows are common
๐Ÿ”น ADHDโ€™s connection to addiction
๐Ÿ”น Practical wellbeing strategies through the Six Pillars of Health
(sleep, nutrition, exercise, mental wellbeing, connection, and purpose)

Andyโ€™s story is extraordinary. After growing up with ADHD and autism, being expelled from school, and battling addiction, he rebuilt his life through education, health, and mindset.

Today he is:
๐Ÿ… 11 years sober
๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ Guinness World Record holder (70 triathlons in 75 days)
๐ŸŒŠ A professional shark diver
๐Ÿ‘ฅ A mentor supporting people with ADHD

This talk blends science, inspiration, and practical tools to help people better understand ADHD and unlock the strengths that come with it.

๐Ÿง  Once you understand the critical role dopamine plays in ADHD itโ€™s like a lightbulb moment!๐Ÿ’ก

Dopamine is the motivation and reward hormone. Did you know in a recent study scientists bred rats without dopamine and unless they put their food within a body length of them they starved to death, they simply didnโ€™t have the will power to feed themselves!

Dopamine is fundamental to our daily functioning and in ADHDers we struggle to regulate it. Too much dopamine and weโ€™re bouncing off the walls, full of energy, hyperactive. Then thereโ€™s often a crash when the dopamine dips and we struggle to get out of bed!

Come join me at one of my upcoming talks โ€œThe Science of ADHD & the six pillars of healthโ€ to find out more about dopamine and ADHD!

Mon 6th July Chelmsley Wood / Solihull
Fri 10th July Uttoxeter
Mon 20th July Congleton

Lots of people have been asking about the upcoming dates for my 1-hour educational talk:

"The Science of ADHD & The Six Pillars of Health"

These will be my final talks before the school summer holidays, with more dates being added from September onwards.

One thing I've learned through my own ADHD journey is that most pre-diagnosed and post-diagnosed people have very little understanding of what ADHD actually is or what causes it.

Most people only see the obvious traits โ€“ hyperactivity, impulsiveness, distractibility, and difficulty focusing. But ADHD goes much deeper than that.

The ADHD brain develops differently and often at a later rate than neurotypical brains. There are significant impacts on dopamine regulation, motivation, emotional control, decision-making, and executive function, which can create huge highs and lows throughout life.

Even during the diagnostic process, there is often very limited ADHD education and very little practical support to help people manage day-to-day life. Workplaces, schools, colleges, and universities frequently have limited understanding of ADHD too, despite the fact that understanding how ADHD affects behaviour can be crucial for improving wellbeing, performance, and productivity.

For many people, learning the science behind ADHD becomes a real lightbulb moment. Suddenly, things start to make sense. You begin to understand why you think, feel, and behave the way you do.

The good news is that with some simple lifestyle adjustments and a better understanding of how your brain works, you can learn to regulate dopamine more effectively and start working with your ADHD rather than constantly fighting against it.

During this 1-hour talk we'll cover:

โœ… What ADHD actually is including differences in the brain structure

โœ… The Chimp Paradox โ€“ understanding the roles of the prefrontal cortex and limbic system

โœ… ADHD and executive function

โœ… Dopamine, motivation, and emotional regulation

โœ… The Six Pillars of Health and how they can help manage ADHD day2day

โœ… Famous ADHDers and the strengths often associated with ADHD

โœ… How I used my ADHD traits to set an Endurance Guinness World Record and become a shark diver

Whether you're diagnosed, awaiting assessment, supporting a family member, working in education, or simply want to understand ADHD better, this talk is designed to be practical, evidence-based, and accessible.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Tickets are just ยฃ10 available at: www.trybooking.com/uk/eventlist/adhdandy

I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones along the way.
