Stats report from our 295th event - one of our busiest ever!

Well done to everyone who took part, and, of course, a huge thank you goes to all of the volunteers!

As ever, we are now looking forward to next weekend's event, and we have a roster to fill for that one! If you are available to volunteer, please let us know.

⚠️ Please read all of the below, especially if you are driving (see car parking situation!) to Isabel Trail parkrun tomorrow.⚠️

The roster is full, so we are good to go tomorrow, course check pending as always! Huge thank you to all of the volunteers - the roster filled earlier than usual this week!

🏃‍♀️As always, the course check will be completed by 8:00am, the First Timers Welcome will take place at 8:50am by the pop-up sign, the RD brief will start around 8:57am, and we'll aim to get underway at 9:00am sharp!🏃‍♂️

🚘The usual plea regarding parking: The Rugby Club car park has recently been filling up very quickly as our attendances have increased. We ask that if you expect to arrive after 8:30am, please go straight to Sainsbury's (ST16 2TF) and park there. It will save you getting caught in a slow queue down to a full car park at the Rugby Club, where you will have to turn around and queue to get out again, only to end up parking at Sainsbury's anyway, but potentially with a last-minute dash to get to the start.🚘

🚨Please DO NOT park on the street in any residential areas; we wish to maintain good relationships with our neighbours!🚨

We do co-ordinate with the car park marshals to try and divert people to Sainsbury's once the Rugby Club car park is full, but the road layout around the entrance (it is NOT a through-road!) makes this very tricky as people try and pile in from the main road, so every single car that goes straight to Sainsbury's of their own accord helps us to alleviate this.

Whilst there is a small charge to park at Sainsbury's, you can claim up to 2 hours of it back by doing a small shop in store, so it works out the same, and the walk to the start is about the same as if you park at the Rugby Club.

🚽There are toilets in both Sainsbury's and the Rugby Club, obviously the ones in Sainsbury's are for their customers, but if you are heading in to buy something to claim back your parking, then that's fine. 🚽

☕️Afterwards, we will be in the Rugby Club for refreshments, so please join us there! They will serve hot and cold drinks, as well as breakfast snacks!☕️

See you tomorrow!

Well, we had a good response to our recent appeal by some awesome volunteers, so there are only a few roles left to fill!

We do need to fill the gaps by Friday night, however, so that this Saturday's parkrun can go ahead.

We still need:

[Edit - roster full! We can always add more marshals in and double up marshal posts if anyone else wants to volunteer, but other than that, we are good to go - thanks everyone!]

If you can help out, please let us know! You can email ([email protected]), DM us, or comment on this post! Don't forget to let us know your parkrun ID number so we can add you to the roster.

Many thanks!

You can choose from:

Marshal x 3
Funnel Manager x 1

If you can help out, please let us know! You can email ([email protected]), DM us, or simply comment below! Don't forget to include your parkrun ID number and choice of role so we can add you to the roster!

Thanks in advance!

Thank you to everyone who attended today, even a light shower throughout didn't dampen your spirits.

⚠️ Please read all of the below, especially if you are driving (see car parking situation!) to Isabel Trail parkrun tomorrow.⚠️

The roster is full, so we are good to go tomorrow, course check pending as always! Bear in mind that there's potential for lightning ⚡️ to be in the vicinity, based on the weather forecast, and that could cause a very last-minute cancellation if it shows up, but we won't know any more on that until tomorrow, and this applies to all parkruns where thunderstorms show up, not just ours.

🏃‍♀️As always, the course check will be completed by 8:00am, the First Timers Welcome will take place at 8:50am by the pop-up sign, the RD brief will start around 8:57am, and we'll aim to get underway at 9:00am sharp!🏃‍♂️

ℹ️Additionally, this weekend we have reduced parking at the Rugby Club due to an event there, so even more emphasis on going straight to Sainsbury's please! We will shut the Rugby Club car park to parkrunners at 8:30am tomorrow.ℹ️

🚨Please DO NOT park on the street in any residential areas; we wish to maintain good relationships with our neighbours!🚨

Please could you give us 5 minutes of your time to digest the following.

For many, the idea of using a defibrillator can feel daunting, but modern AEDs are designed so that anyone can use them — they talk you through every step, and you cannot get it wrong.
Please take a few minutes to watch this short video on how straightforward they are to operate.
Simply knowing what to do with one, can make the biggest of differences.

We'd like to thank a local charity, Heart of Weston for their continued support since the start of our 1st event in 2018 and for the donation of some much needed replacement pads for our very own AED.
They offer free heart screening for anyone aged 14 to 35, simply go to their website for more details.
