🏏 60s RESULTS ROUND-UP 🏏

It was a successful day for our Over 60s sides, with both the 1st XI and 2nd XI recording impressive victories.

👏 60s 1st XI
Staffordshire edged past Buckinghamshire by 2 wickets. Chasing 224 for victory, the team held their nerve to reach 224/8 with four overs to spare after dismissing the visitors for 223.

👏 60s 2nd XI
Another excellent performance saw the 2nd XI secure a 5-wicket win away at Derbyshire. After restricting the hosts to 173/8, Staffordshire chased down the target, finishing on 177/5.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for the 60s 3rd XI, who came up against a strong Wales side and were defeated by 8 wickets.

🏏 50’s RESULTS ROUND-UP 🏏

Unfortunately, the 50s 1st XI fixture against Oxfordshire fell victim to the weather and was cancelled ☔️

The 50s 2nd XI travelled to Worcestershire and produced a spirited batting performance in reply to a formidable Worcestershire total of 259/2.

Staffordshire fought hard, posting 227 all out, but ultimately fell short by 32 runs.

Batting first, Staffordshire posted 133/9 from their 45 overs, but Wales successfully chased down the target, reaching 136/3 in 32.4 overs.

While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the match, with the team continuing to compete well.
