Saturday June 21st 2025 was our summer exhibition and sale, and this coincided with the hottest day of the year. Unsurprisingly, low footfall resulted, but visitor comments were very positive, and there was still a good number of sales. So, overall, another successful day.

Many thanks to everyone who helped with the event - advance publicity, set up / closedown, providing / manning refreshments, loaning equipment, and anything else I've missed - it was a great team effort.

The public judging table had a great range of submissions, of an excellent standard. The top three, who all won prizes 😁, were:

May bank holiday brought with it the lovely Eaton Socon May Day Fayre, and once again Eaton Arts Group had a presence there.

Members were up bright and early setting up the stand, and manned it all day, before finally closing down and returning the gazebo, tables and other equipment.

A very big thank you to everyone who helped, but especially David and Lynne. A special thank you is due to Lynne's husband, who also spent the whole day there, helping out considerably.

Our stand looked great, with an impressive range of work, which saw a steady stream of admiring visitors. Our new vertical display racks gave more space for both pictures, and visitors; everyone agreed they vastly improved our stand, and were money well spent. For next time, we are considering how to brighten up the interior of the gazebo, which was a little dark at times.

A number of pictures were sold, lots of flyers were given out, and our 21st June exhibition and sale was publicised. Hopefully everyone agrees the event was well worth attending.

What better way to spend a lovely sunny Tuesday than painting in the company of friends?

And yesterday saw the judging of our latest challenge - paintings with the theme "cosy". There was a good range of creative interpretations of the theme, and the anonymous vote resulted in these placings:

Next on our agenda is the Eaton Socon May Day Fayre, where we are exhibiting on our own stall, and a proportion on the proceeds of sales will go to ESCA. (Monday May 5th, 10:00 - 4:30).

For our latest challenge, we created pictures to represent a song title. There wasn't a prize, but there was a unanimous winner - revealed in the comments. Who would you have chosen? Can you guess all the song titles? Thanks to everyone who took on the challenge!

We had a lovely final session before our Christmas break. After a good deal of "arting" we shared our Secret Santa handmade cards, trying to guess who the anonymous artist was each time. Then (non alcoholic) drinks and festive nibbles were enjoyed. Oh, and we must put on record the much anticipated appearance of our very own "Chippendales"! (Thanks for being good sports, David, Doug, Tony and Phil!)

In our latest intra-group competition, the theme was "winter trees". Thank you to everyone that took part. The standard of entries was exceptionally high! Congratulations go to "new" Lynn, whose picture received the greatest number of votes.

That's a wrap! Our November Exhibition and Sale is finished! Huge thanks to everyone that helped, from setting up, through loaning equipment, to manning the refreshments, and everything in between. There was a steady flow of visitors, and many were very complimentary about the range of styles, and standard of work. Well done everyone!

Just for a change, we had a competition in our group today, where art works on the theme of "summer" were invited. We had a super number of entries, and the range of subjects was vast! Everyone voted for their favourite, and there was a four-way tie at the top, between Rita, Margaret, Roger P and Roger B. Congratulations to them! Their works are shown here.

What a super day we had yesterday, with our Exhibition and Sale.

Many thanks for everyone's help - volunteering time, loaning equipment, supplying refreshments, etc. etc. - together we put on a lovely event.

Visitor numbers were up on last year's, people had lovely things to say about our work, a healthy number of sales were made, and most people seem to have taken part in the Judging Table.

Hope to see lots of you on Tuesday for our usual session.

We had a very successful day today, on our stand at the St Neots Festival. Thank you to Val, Sue, Phil and Elaine for giving up part of their afternoon to man the stand. Lots of people showed interest in what we do, and many took details of next weekend's exhibition and sale. Sorry, I didn't get photos of everyone.
