The Vicky Grant School of Dance is a Cambridgeshire based dance and drama school offering excellent training in British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA) Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz and Tap, London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Acting classes, classes in Street Dance and Contemporary and adult classes in Ballet and Street Dance with Conditioning. All teachers are trained professionals and hold full DBS licenses and first aid certificates. We are passionate about offering a friendly and happy environment for you and your children to learn. Students studying graded subjects have the opportunity to take examinations and medal tests and we are extremely proud to hold a 100% pass rate. All dance students have the chance to appear in our annual show and summer schools and a selected group of students make up our Gala Troupe and perform at a variety of events throughout the year. Acting students perform Showcases two to three times a year and can take graded examinations. We're so proud to share that, thanks to programme sales from our upper show adding to what was raised at the lower school show, Team VG has been able to donate an incredible ยฃ726.91 to Young Lives vs Cancer! ๐ŸŒŸ

We were sent the most heartfelt thank you letter, and wanted to share a little of what it said:

"These are vital funds which will go directly towards supporting children and young people with cancer, and their families. Thank you so much for your support, it really does make a huge difference."

Young Lives vs Cancer supported over 6,800 children and young people with cancer last year, providing emotional, practical, and financial support to them and their families. They also run 'Homes from Home' across the UK, so families can stay together, free of charge, just minutes from hospital while their child has treatment. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’›

Miss Vicky spent Saturday attending Examiner Training, before being joined today by Miss Sophie, Miss Cerys and Miss Harriet for the BTDA AGM and a full day of teacher training, learning and inspiration. โœจ

Continuous professional development is so important to us at Team VG, and we love having opportunities like this to keep learning, developing and bringing fresh ideas back into the studios for our students.

One of Team VG students' wonderful grandparents, Nigel and Sue, very kindly commissioned this beautiful framed photograph of the Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers especially for me as a gift from them, to say thank you for everything we do for all of our lovely Team VG students. ๐Ÿ’œ

Nigel is friends with Clive, the official photographer for Birmingham Royal Ballet, so the photograph even comes with its own certificate of authenticity; which makes it feel extra special! โœจ

Such a thoughtful and incredibly kind gesture, and one that I really wasnโ€™t expecting.
Iโ€™ve hung it at the top of our purple staircase, where it can now be enjoyed by everyone who comes into the studios ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ’œ

Thank you so much Nigel and Sue for such a special gift, and to Clive for the beautiful photograph. Things like this really do mean the world and are such a lovely reminder of the wonderful families and community we have at Team VG.

๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฉท **TEAM VG FUTURE DANCE TEACHERS 2026โ€“2027** ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’œ

Look at this wonderful bunch! ๐Ÿฅนโœจ

Last night we officially kicked off a brand new year of our **Team VG Future Dance Teachers Programme**, with 90 minutes of learning, discussion, activities and lots of fun for each level!

๐Ÿฉท Our **pink t-shirts** are our brand new **Level 1 Future Dance Teachers**, beginning their journey with us this year.

๐Ÿ’œ And our **purple t-shirts** are our brilliant **Level 2s**, continuing to build their confidence, knowledge and skills as young teachers and role models.

What a fabulous group they are! The energy in the room was amazing and I absolutely loved spending the evening with them. There was so much enthusiasm, laughter and willingness to get involved; exactly what this programme is all about.

For me, Future Dance Teachers is about so much more than learning how to teach dance. Itโ€™s about building confidence, communication, leadership and responsibility, and learning how to **nurture, inspire and create that all-important sense of belonging** for the dancers coming up behind them. ๐Ÿ’œ

And as our **new term officially kicks off today**, I want to wish all of our wonderful teachers a fabulous first day back! I hope all of our students are excited to be back in the studios too; we certainly are! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Hereโ€™s to a brilliant new school year full of dancing, learning, friendships and lots of Team VG memories.

A lovely evening with my wonderful teaching team for our Team VG New School Year Kick-Off Meeting ๐Ÿ’œ
It was such a good opportunity to stop for a moment and look back at just how much weโ€™ve achieved together over the last 12 months; the shows, exams, events, new programmes, teacher development, student successes and so much more.
When youโ€™re busy moving from one thing to the next, itโ€™s easy to forget just how far youโ€™ve come, and tonight was a really lovely reminder of what an incredible team I have around me.

Just a few of our wonderful Future Dance Teachers 2025โ€“2026 pictured here - 12 of the 32 students who completed the programme last yearโ€ฆ with all 32 passing the course! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘
Iโ€™m so incredibly proud of what these young people achieved, but for me, this programme is about so much more than gaining a qualification.
Itโ€™s about building confidence. Learning how to communicate and lead. Understanding how to encourage and support younger dancers. Developing responsibility, independence and professionalismโ€ฆ and starting to see themselves as someone who can inspire others. ๐Ÿ’œ
It fits so perfectly with everything we believe in at Team VG:
๐Ÿ’œ NURTURE โ€” developing our young people and helping them grow
โœจ INSPIRE โ€” giving them the skills and confidence to inspire the next generation
๐Ÿค BELONG โ€” creating young leaders who understand what it means to make every dancer feel valued and part of Team VG
And this Friday, we start all over again! ๐Ÿฅน
We have 24 brand-new Level 1 Future Dance Teachers beginning their journey, while 24 of our existing FDT students move onto Level 2 and continue developing their skills even further.
I absolutely LOVE teaching this programme and having the opportunity to mentor these students beyond their own dance training.
To our 2025โ€“2026 FDTs โ€” Iโ€™m so proud of you. ๐Ÿ’œ
And to our 2026โ€“2027 teamโ€ฆI cannot WAIT to get started on Friday! ๐ŸŒŸ
