Fun times at Lee Valley Velodrome on Saturday. Small numbers meant we dropped to one coach this time but they did do a fab job with our mixed ability group. We had a lot of free ride time to get a good feel for the track, followed by some cones to follow to coax us all up the bank and then a timed lap each. Good instruction was given to encourage us to get our best times.

Big massive thanks to our main instigator and organiser Melanie Hathaway and to the other quiet committee members that made this event happen. Well done to those that took part and supported this event. 😀

16 riders signed up to the 1st of 15 planned club 10 time trials this season. The ☀️ was out with a little 🌬️.

As we progress into the season, riders wishing to compete for the club 🏆’s, will have their best 9 results used to generate the points and podiums in the pics.

Riders of all abilities are encouraged to come along to have a go, it is just you against the clock. PR’s are encouraged, especially by our wonderful Marshalls 🗣️ who are there to keep you safe. 👏

This year, as ever it is going to be a huge team effort to run these events so I encourage you all to support and get involved if you can. As Steve B will keep saying, you can reduce your membership fee next year by helping out this season.

Big thanks to everyone that supported this first TT of 2025 and well done to all the riders.

11th June will be a FREE OF CHARGE ‘Come and try it’ week! 3rd September is the Hill Climb.

St Ives Cycling Club Development Squad

St Ives CC is looking for riders for our new Development Squad.
We are creating a team to support young riders (Youth, Junior and U23) in achieving their racing potential.

We are looking for motivated female and male riders from the region who want to race and are committed to achieving their full potential. The focus is primarily on road racing, but we will encourage riders to try other disciplines. We are offering kit, financial assistance, advice and coaching.

If you are currently a Youth, Junior or U23 rider who wants to race and train in a strong team environment, please email [email protected] telling us about your racing experience, your current training and what motivates you. If you are under 18, please also provide contact details for a parent or guardian.
