Great day today for the Carlyon Bay Ladies team at St. Enodoc playing the Gammon Trophy against Tehidy. We put up a brave fight, winning one, halving one and with 3 of the 7 matches going to the 18th but unfortunately this time we lost 5 1/2 to 1 1/2. Many thanks to all the players who gave their absolute best and to all the caddies for your support.

Thursday 11th June the date, Tehidy Park the venue for the Baron Rose Bowl County event. 3 pairs playing 36 holes medal 4somes braved the inclement damp conditions in the morning round returning scores of nett 74 for Kathy and Paula (in 2nd place) 83 for Lynn and Kay, and 89 for Maggie and Erin. The afternoon was drier but still very windy. With an afternoon round of 78 Kath Callaghan and Paula Coleman finished 4th overall and with consistent rounds from Lynn Saget (chipped in 3 times!) and Kay Barr and a tremendous nett 76 from Maggie Holmes and Erin Williams, the team finished 7th out of 18 teams. Despite the weather, everyone enjoyed the course and were treated to a delicious buffet afterwards. Many thanks to the Carlyon Bay hotel for funding the team's entries to all the County events. On to the 2nd round of the Gammon Trophy next....Sunday 14th at St. Enodoc v Tehidy

Congratulations to Kay, Maggie and Lucy who won the Ladies Open Day today with 77points. 4th prize went to Mel, Kathy and Nerys with 73 points. Well done ladies, great scores despite the awful weather......windy with sideways rain at times.
Thankyou to Carlyon Bay Golf Club bar and catering staff for looking after us all day and to all the ladies who helped with registration, car parking, prize table, raffle and games and raising over £400 for the Captain's Charity Macmillan Nurses.

Introducing the Titleist UK & Ireland Women’s Four-Ball - a brand-new national competition for 2026

The four-ball format has grown in the past 12 months, with 2025 showing a 68% increase in four-ball scores being entered for handicapping purposes in England.

And with our commitment to driving inclusivity and accessibility across the sport, the new tournament will provide more opportunities for women and girls to play team golf, with a chance to progress to a National Final.

Open to all clubs affiliated to England Golf, the competition invites clubs to run their own women’s four-ball Stableford qualifier and submit their winning pair by 8th July 2026.

The pair returning the highest number of Stableford points in each club qualifier will go forward as that club’s official entry.

Congratulations to Judy and Hazel on winning the Coronation Foursomes competition with 37 points. They go on to represent Carlyon Bay in the regional final at Yeovil on 14th July. 👏👏

Two of our girls have been making the most of the school holidays to play lots of golf, despite some unseasonable weather conditions 🏌🏼‍♀️

After making impressive debuts in the Cornwall Women’s Amateur Championships at Mullion last week, with subsequent handicap cuts, Erin and Eliza played in our club ladies’ Freda Knight Cup & Stableford Qualifier yesterday with Erin taking 1st place and Eliza 3rd.

Thanks very much to our fantastic ladies section for the warm welcome 🤗

Both girls have been selected for county squad training and we look forward to seeing their success over the season.

Good luck to Erin who once again takes on some tough conditions in the Perranporth Junior Open today.
