Our first big event of the semester will be our welcome back tea dance on Saturday 1st February from 1-4pm in Boys Brigade Hall! This event is completely beginner friendly and we’ll be doing some ceilidh dancing too!

On Friday 7th February, we will be travelling as a team to Manchester, staying overnight and competing in the Northern Universities Dance Competition (NUDC) on the Saturday the 8th!! Competing at NUDC is encouraged if you’re considering joining us for IVDC in Blackpool on the 22nd Feb, and signups are open now until Sunday!!

As the semester draws to a close, join us to celebrate our last day of classes with a special schedule!! All classes are open to all levels of dancers, newcomers, members and non-members - so come and join us as we celebrate an incredible semester of dancing!!

Note: there will be no beginner classes on Monday 2nd December - so please join us on Wednesday instead!!

🕺OFFBEAT WORKSHOP🕺
Considering being part of our offbeat team for competitions next semester? Come along to our workshop on Sunday to find out what offbeat is and discuss ideas with us!

Offbeat is a team dance that is performed in between the Ballroom and Latin sections at competitions such as NUDC (which will be in Leeds next semester) and Blackpool!! It’s marked 50% on dance and 50% on entertainment - so it’s nothing too serious!! It’ll be great to have a team this year as we already have some fun ideas on what we could dress up as - so please come along!!

Our Story

Welcome to BALLADS St Andrews - the Ballroom and Latin Dance Society of St Andrews University!

We offer classes for beginners, novices and above in all 10 Ballroom and Latin dances for students and non-students alike! We regularly compete in IVDA events across to UK.

Our regular timetable is as follows (please check the link attached for updates/changes):

MONDAY - Club 601 (St Andrews Students’ Association). 19:00-20:00 - Beginners' Ballroom 20:00-21:00 - Beginners' Latin
