Can 30-mins of exercise really prevent anxiety?

This completely unbelievable study discovered the answer…

Researchers investigating the anti-panic effects of exercise had participants complete 30 minutes of aerobic exercise.

They were then given a drug called CCK-4 - which is known to trigger intense anxiety, a racing heart, and breathlessness...

What happened next surprised everyone…

The calming effects of exercise were so powerful that they were comparable to findings seen with benzodiazepine medications.

In fact, the researchers suggested that exercise had made participants almost ‘immune’ to panic attacks.

Think about that for a moment...

Exercise was able to counteract anxiety that had literally been injected into the bloodstream!

It's yet another powerful reminder that exercise doesn't just help manage anxiety...

It can prevent it in the first place 🧠💪🏼

Professionally I know where I’m headed in 2026 🚀

This clip is CIMSPA CEO Tara Dillon, talking about the developments that are happening in the sport and physical activity sector ✨

In 2021 I left a highly regulated field (Social Work) and moved in to health and fitness coaching. Whilst I appreciate the many similarities of my new role to improve wellbeing and can use my transferable skills of taking a client-centred, empathetic and empowering goal-focused approach, I was shocked to find a lack of regulation in the coaching world 👀

As a trainee PT, CIMSPA’s commitment to higher standards through the introduction of professional status is exactly what I am looking for, what my current and future clients deserve, plus what I see the industry needs 💪🏼

Big thanks to all contributing to the quality education l'm receiving through CIMSPA’s ‘enhanced status’ training provider The MHEC Academy for me to become a PT in 2026! 🧠

From CONCEPT to REALITY! 🤩

Have you heard of gymtimidation? It’s a real thing 👀 - and more common than you might realise 😬

I’m passionate about reducing the barriers that keep people from exercising, because movement is one of the most powerful tools we have for our physical, mental and social health 💪🏼🧠💚👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏾🧘🏻‍♀️💞

For so many people, gym anxiety is one of the biggest barriers… That’s why small, private training spaces can make such a huge difference… Add in the right guidance and support, taking action in such an environment, confidence can grow fast 🫶🏻

Earlier this year, Mike and I (pictured) chatted as part of his research and planning for his new project. Fast forward to now - it was incredible to see his vision come to life! 💡💥

From the outside it may look compact, but step in and you’ll find a fully equipped, beautifully designed training space with everything you need (and more!) to support your fitness journey 💞

During opening week I had the pleasure of meeting Mike, founder of TinyGyms, in person in his creation. And honestly - wow 🤩

Mike has developed a welcoming, clean, modern, and safety-focused facility packed with high-quality equipment and thoughtful touches that make training more enjoyable 🤓💪🏼

Located beside Madras College, the new R&A building and nearby housing, the TinyGym is super easy to access - and I love the plan for a delicious spot opening next door… perfect for a pre or post workout chat 😋💬
