If you're a mum, chances are you've had targeted ads for "diastasis friendly" workouts shoved down your throat via Instagram. Or possibly workouts claiming to not only heal your diastasis, but also to cook your dinner, walk the dog, and have your baby sleeping through the night.

These "trainers" are praying on your vulnerabilities. Diastasis is a totally normal part of pregnancy and for most people it will heal on its own and cause no issues.

Swipe past these ads, and unfollow anyone spewing this kind of nonsense.

We were fully booked AND outnumbered at a ratio of 4:3 this morning and it was pure, unbridled chaos 😂

Playtime Pilates is a safe space for you to bring your child(ren) to play and make noise while you move (as much as you're able to).

You never need to worry about your child being too loud or "too energetic" in this class.

Although I am thinking I need to get a microphone 🎤🙈

"I love Charlotte’s classes! I specifically like that it’s a class for mum to enjoy and the babies can come along… there’s not much about that’s just for the mum!! Charlotte has everything you need to exercise alongside your baby and we sometimes use the baby as extra load!! Charlotte has an array of toys suitable from birth to toddlers, so everyone’s welcome! She also tailors the exercises to suit different needs by the mums, making it more difficult or easier. I love my exercise, but struggled with fitting it in with childcare being the main issue so this is perfect!!! I really felt the benefits of the Pilates the next day, amongst the giggles and chatter you do actually do some good!

Definitely a class to try if you’re wanting to get back into exercise but struggle with childcare! My little girl loved laying/sitting and playing and watching us all exercise as well as watching the toddlers run around. Give it a go, you’ll be back for sure!"

Think your exercise routine needs to be all or nothing in order to be effective? 🤔

Think again! 🤯

Trying to fit in long workouts as a new parent is more or less impossible. If you've struggled to make exercise part of your routine before, you'll know that becoming a parent may not be the only reason working out simply doesn't get done.

Good news though, pals! Shorter bouts of movement are beneficial for your health, too. Every minute counts. While it can be tempting to not move at all unless you have the time to fit in a "full" workout, it may help to shift your mindset.

An imperfect, interrupted or short workout is always better than doing nothing.

Save this as a friendly reminder!

If you're struggling to make exercise a sustainable part of your routine, it might be time to re-evaluate your reasons for exercising 🤸‍♀️

Research shows that weight loss is low quality motivation when it comes to exercise 🤯

Exercise isn't actually that great for weight loss, so when it inevitably doesn't have the desired effect, people give up.

There are so many amazing reasons to exercise, try coming up with something that has NOTHING to do with how you look.

Confused about what is and isn't safe for you to do during pregnancy? 🤔

It's normal to feel this way.

Instagram is full of "fitness professionals" spewing out all sorts of nonsense. Exercise during pregnancy doesn't need to be complicated in order to be safe.

Remember these things and you'll be FINE:

💜 Don't bump, bump. Avoid activities that increase the risk of falling or impact with bump (i.e. horse riding, rugby, skiing, skydiving).
⭐ No scuba diving or exercising at high altitudes (unless you already live at the top of a mountain)
💜 Don't exercise in hot or humid environments - this means no hot yoga! Exercise in a temperature controlled room and drink lots of fluids.
⭐ Avoid lying on your back for prolonged periods of time. A brief stint will be fine, but don't stay there.
