Bit of a sucker punch before half time as the Shildon striker gets on to the through ball just before Swallow in goal. 2-3

30/04/2023

It’s a game of corners here, Sports Bar went 2-1 when a corner met by Craig Bowmer. But then back down the other side 5 minutes later, a scuffed corner from Shildon was rescued well and worked in to the net. 2-2

30/04/2023

Corner at the other end makes it 1-1

30/04/2023

Last home game of the season today in a season that’s seen more managerial changes that would make even Watford’s owners eyes water.

We stand on 4 points after our only win being a resounding 3-0 win against an absent Aycliffe Sports Club.

A win today will take us above Bearpark and off the bottom spot.

21 goals scored so far this season, looking to get to at least 22 today.

Match Report:

We went in either 8-0 or 9-0 down but apparently it ended 11-0. Going to add an abacus to the kit bag for the next match to keep up. Free week next week without a fixture so the lads can reflect on the morning we have just had. At a boggy and foggy Jubilee Park you would expect to see lads up the eyeballs in mud at half time but only a few could say that they were.

Unfortunately not good enough across the park but if we were to pick a couple of positives it was from Chris Kilburn and Matt Freeman who did well today with Matt picking up the bridesmaid award once again.

Dan Newell came on at half time in goal and conceded only 2/11 which is to be commended also.

Best of luck to Auckland Sports Bar for the rest of the season and nice to see some of them back at the Brewery Field for some drinks

Went into half time at 1-1 after a good finish from Chris Kilburn from a Finlay Hope long ball.
However the set pieces catching us out, 3 of the 5 goals coming from corners and went into the last 5 minutes being 1-5 down before Ethan pulled one back.

Almost made it through October with only losing once in the league however we managed to squeeze another one in before November. Nevermind, we scored 2 in a match

Match Report:

Still unbeaten in the league since the 2nd October as we had another cup match today.
Thanks to Brandon for changing the match to their ground last minute as we were unable to host at Jubilee Park.

Brandon’s quality showed as the First Division team from the off and it kept up for the 90 minutes. It would have been double figures if it wasn’t for Spenny’s finest taxi driver with a siren - Dan Newell. I have never witnessed a human being in Sunday league between the sticks pull off some of the saves he did and then almost put his back out picking up a slow rolling ball. Absolute quality from the big man.

We go again, back to the bar for some scran and bevs
