❤️ A True Family Affair at Howden Equestrian Centre! ❤️

There is nothing quite like watching a passion for horses pass down through the generations, and we have had the absolute pleasure of witnessing a wonderful family journey!

Many of you will know Flo, who has been a familiar face around the stables since 2021! We have loved every minute of watching Flo grow from a young grassroots beginner into a confident, skilled rider over the last five years.

But the story doesn't stop there. After spending a few years cheering from the sidelines, Mum Caroline decided it was time to get back at it! After a long break out of the saddle, she officially joined the Howden family last year to rebuild her confidence and rediscover her love for the sport. 👑🐴

We love nothing more than supporting riders at every stage of their riding journey —whether you're working towards a specific goal or making a brave return to the saddle after decades away, everyone is welcome!

Thank you both for making your equestrian memories with us. Watching our riding community grow like this is exactly why we do what we do!

***ROAD CLOSED*** (Again!)
This sign has now appeared at the top of our drive.
We have spent a long time on the phone to the council and Quickline who are doing the works. They are closing the road but we have been ASSURED you can ask for access through.

At the moment we are not sure which direction would be best to access us, we will be ringing again on Monday morning to try and get more information on this situation. We are pushing as hard as we can to get clarity on this situation.

PLEASE drive up and ask to come through as they have absolutely assured us you can come through to access businesses.

Please allow extra time for your journey and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience!

*** ROAD CLOSURE***
We have just been told that the road to us is CLOSED via the Golf course end of Spaldington road. We have no notification of how long this will be.
Access at the moment is only via the A614 / Water Tower end.

Teenagers own a pony / horse days this summer!
Whether you are new to horse riding, or you have been riding with us for a little while pony days are great fun!
Suitable for riders aged 12 - 16yrs.
😊Monday 27th July

☺️Monday 24th August
Sessions include a group riding lesson, pony care, grooming, plaiting etc.
£58 to include lunch.

Shhh🤫We've been keeping a secret! 🙈 👀There are newbies on the yard!! 👀
Everyone please welcome - Junior & Domino (2!)

They are both currently in quarantine as they are new to the yard so please don't pet them whilst they have chance to settle in.

🐎Junior is a beautiful dun 4 year old cob who is on loan to us and 🐴Domino is a lovely piebald 3 year old who we have purchased.

Both of them will be starting cob school at various stages due to their ages as they are both still babies, learning and growing, so they won't be doing very much at the moment!

Domino will be spending time learning all the things a cob needs to know, and learning how to be ridden etc, this takes time and will need to be done slowly and thoughtfully over the next year or so.

Junior has already learnt these things last year, so will need a slow and steady re-introduction to his new job. Once he is ready, he will only be available for adult advanced riders while het gets more miles under his belt learning the trade and growing up.

However i am sure you will all agree, they are both beautiful 😍 and we are convinced you will all love them 😍

Do you want to learn more about being a riding school helper?

We have our dates for our summer BHS riding school assistant award training days. BHS book and certificate awarded on sign off.

Students must have ridden with us in the last 6 months and be aged 13 years +

Training is with BHS Stage 3 Coach Katie and will cover:
🐴Grooming
🐴Leading
🐴Tacking up
🐴Horse Handling
🐴Yard Safety
🐴Helping in lessons
And more!

Students MUST complete at least 2 training days to achieve the award. Each session is £30 9am- 1pm with qualified BHS coach.

(More sessions MAY be needed to be signed off if level has not been achieved on day).

Im sorry we cannot reserve spaces, so we recommend you book early to secure your space. We wont be running any other pony days this summer, so once these are full that is all we will have!
