After receiving confirmation from the family, Chris’s funeral service will take place at the South Lincolnshire Crematorium, Surfleet on Tuesday 22nd September 2026 at 3pm. It was also Chris’s wishes for those bowlers attending to wear their bowls shirts and nothing formal. Following the service, all are welcome to continue the celebration of Chris’s life at the Royal Mail Cart pub, Pinchbeck Road, Spalding.

Congratulations to Jordy and Chris who won the EBf national mens pairs title this week 🥳🟢⚫️🔴 🏆

Last Wednesday afternoon saw a special match played between Royal Mail Cart BC and a Bowls England team in celebration of the host club’s 100th anniversary (101 years as the game was delayed one year due to differing circumstances), with the game played over six rinks of fours (18 ends) followed by a meal afterwards held in the Mail Cart pub next door. The Bowls England team had travelled far and wide to visit Spalding for this fixture, ranging from counties as south as Dorset and as north as Yorkshire to join in the Mail Cart delayed celebrations, and the match itself although won comfortably by the home club on 5 rinks seemed to be enjoyed by all who attended.

The meal afterwards was well supported by over 60 people made up of players and guests, and the raffle made nearly £400 of income for the club in addition to a bowls spider won by Keira Thurston which raised £50 and will be donated to Visually Impaired Bowls England. A few special thanks also - firstly to the host players who played on the day and brought raffle prizes, the Bowls England team and their support who travelled, the pub (ROYAL MAIL CART Promotions) for the meal and their facilities and to those who helped organise and ran the day very well. Here’s to the next 100 years!
