Today we took four members of the club to Manchester to Grade under Sensei Garry Harford 8th Dan. Sian, Indi, Mason and Lewis all did really well and got some great comments from Sensei.

Keep on pushing ladies and gents, the work starts again on Tuesday!

Sian, Indi and Mason all graded to 7th Kyu today under the watchful eye of Sensei Garry Harford. All three did good solid gradings and represented the club well.

Sowerby Bridge Shotokan Karate Club has been teaching karate at Foundry Street Community Centre since 1980. A new beginners course is welcoming new students throughout May and June. First session free, then subsidised for 12 weeks at just £3 a session. Everyone welcome from age 7+ to 70 and beyond, fitness and health issues are no barrier. Give it a try - it might change your life!

One of our instructors has been awarded the huge responsibility and privilege of representing the KUGB as a C Licence Grading Examiner ensuring the quality of our members.

Congratulations to Sensei Scott Watson, 5th Dan, on becoming the KUGB's newest C Licence Grading Examiner.

Today three of our members travelled to Manchester Shotokan Karate Academy to train and grade with Sensei Garry Harford. Chris, Louis and Mason all did really well and were commended for strong grading. Now the real work starts Gentlemen!!!
Instructors and senior students (Peter, Scott, Robert and Nick) from the club also took the opportunity to train with Sensei Harford in a very detailed and high energy lesson.
Great representation from all club members!!
