What a brilliant day it was seeing 27 first-time bowlers take to the green, learn new skills and enjoy themselves. The smiles, laughter and friendly competition throughout the day made it a huge success.

These extra photos capture some of the great moments from the day — from concentration on the green to the celebrations and plenty of fun in between!

A huge thank you again to everyone who took part, supported, encouraged and helped make the day such a memorable one.

What a fantastic day it was yesterday at Hillcrest for our very first Non-Bowlers Competition!

What a brilliant turnout, with 27 people who had never played bowls before stepping onto the green for the very first time and giving it a go. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves, learning something new and having plenty of laughs along the way.

A huge thank you goes to Ed for organising the competition and helping make the day such a success 👏

We had a great final between Kevin and Rebecca, with Kevin taking the win 11–7, but congratulations to both finalists on making it all the way through. Well done also to our semi-finalists John and Gary 👏

Days like today don’t happen without support, so a big shout out and thank you to the members who helped and encouraged our non-bowlers throughout the day:

The forecast says we’re in for a scorcher, so why sit at home when you could cool down with a drink and great company at the club? 😎

We were originally opening from 3PM this Bank Holiday Monday, but we’re now opening earlier from 1:30PM – even more time to pop in, catch up with friends, enjoy a few drinks and make the most of the sunshine! 🍺🌞
