It is with a heavy heart we are posting this. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our much-loved member June Gledhill.
We would be hard pressed to find a club in the league that didn’t know June. She provided so much support over the years, and we know that her absence will be felt by all who knew her.
June did so much behind the scenes. In recent years providing support through our ladies committee, always on hand to help with teas, making sure the ground was tidy and presentable, collecting supplies for the smooth running of the club. This is only a small part of the roles that June undertook. A true club lady through and through.
Hard to imagine that we will never see her head popping over the wall from her yard to greet spectators and check on the scores throughout the day. No longer sat at the bar with a Carling in hand, making sure everyone was ok and ensuring that the language was kept to a minimum!
Our thoughts are with Katie, Jack and all the family at this very difficult time.
We will miss you Juney Babes! With Colin now, have another Carling darling.
