Great to see some newer members out yesterday. A lovely morning up the river.
Along side regular racing at sea, we also have the river for less experienced sailors or when conditions out on the bay don’t allow.
New members always welcome.

ONE OF OUR BUOYS IS MISSING!
Following last night's race, our trusty yellow mark seems to have done a runner overnight — last seen somewhere off Southwold, possibly making a break for the continent.
If you spot a large yellow buoy bobbing about (or washed up looking sheepish), please let us know! No reward offered, but eternal gratitude and a pint at the bar awaits its safe return.
Southwold Sailing Club will always keep an eye out for our wandering inflatable friend.

Last weekend we hosted the Javelin Nationals . Great to have sailors from across the country enjoying sailing on this part of the east coast.
As one of the few clubs in Suffolk that has direct access to the sea, cruisers and dinghies regularly sail in both Southwold and Walberswick bays.

A great weekend Southwold Sailing Club hosting the Javelin Nationals. 2 days of great racing in lovely conditions. Thanks to everyone that took part and the team of SSC volunteers that made the event happen.

What a week!

Huge congratulations to Hugh and Daniel on an outstanding 420 Youth Nationals

Four days of proper racing on the Solent, everything thrown at them from big breeze to light and shifty… and they delivered with a superb 22nd overall against the very best youth sailors in the country

That 22nd really doesn’t tell the story. The racing was unbelievably tight all week – boats going from leading races to being swallowed up, then fighting back through again. Hugh and Daniel were right in that mix throughout, pushing at the front and battling hard in every race

This has been a long time coming. A winter of serious commitment as part of the new RYA talent academy, with long weekends at Rutland and in Wales, sailing in whatever was put in front of them. That hard work is now paying off

On the back of this result, and two other championships over the winter, they have been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2026 World Championships

Even better, they will be representing Southwold Sailing Club on the international stage. A huge moment for them and for the club
