And we have another Green Belt! 💚
Amazing Grace joins her pal Holly in the green belt gang! 💚💚 Well done Grace, it was a pleasure to present you with your new grade this evening. 👏🏼
So proud of both of these girls who started with me when they were just in Year 1!

We are so incredibly proud of our two newest green belts, Holly & Alexander. 💚💚
Holly & Alex are both fantastic role models at the club in every possible way; displaying grit, determination, hard work & commitment.
It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of their judo journeys over the past 5 years and see them grow from little red belts to now achieving this well-deserved milestone grade. 👏🏼👏🏼

Massively proud of our small team who took part in the Sussex County Trials today.

First up was Reggie, competing in his first ever competition. He proved he was of the level and grew in confidence with every fight, coming away with a Bronze medal in the u27kg category. 🥉

In u38kg Eric only had one other competitor so took the Silver Medal after narrowly losing this contest. However, he was also put up a weight for 2 tough contests in the u42kg category for experience. 🥈

Holly had another tough group in the u57kg girls. She demonstrated her trademark grit and determination but lost to the eventual gold medallist first fight and then narrowly lost her second contest to put her out of the running for the medals on this occasion.

Alexander took to the mat in the u34kg category. After blitzing through his first 3 contests with consecutive ippons he met a very experienced adversary in the final. Alex countered his opponent for an incredible ippon to gain Gold & become our newest SUSSEX COUNTY CHAMPION! 🥇

Congratulations to you all 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

What a fantastic evening for our little judo club! Delighted to welcome Terry & Jeff, alongside Sensei Dave, to show some of their techniques. Thank you so much for coming. The coaches were super impressed with the judo they saw on display. I am so proud of our club. The children are an absolute credit to us. Very proud of you all. 🥋

That’s a wrap! This week saw the final Shoreham Judo Club session at Eastbrook until September. The children took part in a “Kata Randori” competition, where they demonstrated their best throws, and received certificates for their efforts. Well done everyone on another fantastic year! 🥋

Well done to Ruby who had an incredible 8 fights at the Kent International competition today. She came away with a Bronze medal in the Junior (-20) section and another valuable 10 points towards her Black Belt in the Senior section.

Ruby is a great example to our younger players of what you can achieve when you don’t give up.

Every black belt was once a beginner 🖤
