Southwell City FC Ladies are recruiting for their first team and development team for the upcoming 2026/2027 season.

Whether you are new to football, looking for a fresh start or wanting to challenge yourself; then Southwell City FC Ladies could be your next footballing home, therefore we want to hear from you.

We don't do trials, no matter your ability, we just want your ambition and your dedication and our coaches will do the rest. ALL ladies aged 16+ are welcome.

Two training sessions a week

And that’s a wrap on the 2025/2026 season.

After a summer of transition, the Zebras knew it would take time for new and returning faces to settle in and build understanding on the pitch. The start was challenging, but as the season progressed and the squad continued to grow together, performances and results improved. With the return of familiar faces alongside exciting new additions, the ladies finished the campaign strongly — ending the season around where management expected, just outside the promotion-chasing pack.

But at Southwell City FC Ladies, it’s about far more than results.

⚽️It’s about the mother-and-daughter partnership of Zara and Laya sharing a third season together.
⚽️It’s about sisters Hope and Lauren lining up on the same pitch.
⚽️It’s about giving players like Tonbara and Emma the platform to pursue their soccer dreams in the USA over the coming academic years.
⚽️It’s about creating opportunities for younger players such as Alice and Anna from the U18s to experience open-age football.
⚽️It’s also about giving the next generation from the U16s — Sofia, Grace, Flo, Lauren and Kyla — the chance to step up and develop.

👊It’s about the growth and development of everyone involved.
👊It’s about building a club that people want to be part of through every high and low.
👊It’s about being a Zebra.

We head into the 2026/2027 season full of optimism and ambition as we continue to grow.

Our U18 section will continue to develop and strengthen, while the introduction of a new development team will provide even more support for younger players transitioning into open-age football — creating further opportunities to wear the black and white of Southwell City FC.

We’ll also be looking to strengthen the ladies’ squad as we aim to take the next step and push for promotion.

It’s a great time to be a Zebra.

Southwell City FC Ladies are growing, and we’re on the lookout for passionate, reliable volunteers to join our team behind the scenes!

Whether you’re a football fanatic or just want to support a great local club, we have a variety of roles available, including coaching roles, admin roles, social media/content support, fundraising volunteers etc.

No prior experience is necessary—just enthusiasm, commitment, and a team spirit!

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in women’s football, meet new people, and make a real difference to a developing club.

As the 2025/2026 season comes to a close, The Zebras will be saying goodbye to several players who are heading to the USA to continue their football journey or moving on to the next stage of their academic careers.

With that in mind, Southwell City FC Ladies are now recruiting new players for the 2026/2027 season to strengthen and build our squad.

Alongside our First Team, we are excited to be launching a brand-new Development Team. This will provide the perfect platform for players who want to improve their game, as well as those who simply want to enjoy playing football in a supportive environment.

It wasn’t our day today, though the scoreline doesn’t truly reflect how well the Zebras performed overall.

For most of the match, the team went toe-to-toe with one of the league’s favourites, defending resolutely and causing plenty of problems for Eastwood & Kimberley.

In the end, however, a few moments of quality from the home side proved decisive. There are plenty of positives to take, and a strong standard has been set heading into next week’s final league game at home.
