Bramley Apple Football Club - Southwell Bramley Apple FC are an amateur football club based in Southwell Nottinghamshire playing in The Newark Alliance Division 2. Age Group 16+

Formed in 2021 by Chris and Jonathan Rice and named after the iconic Bramley Apple Tree. We play our home matches at The Arthur Radford Sports Ground Morton NG25 0UT. Sponsors: Three 6 Nine Design,

Sunday saw us travel to Witham for the last game of the season and with injuries and availability being an issue plus a breakdown on the way Bramley had to play the full 90 minutes with 10 men.

Witham dominated the first half going into the break leading 3-0, there were some Bramley half chances.

The second half was much better for Bramley still not seeing much of the ball but we were a lot more defensively sound and had a few better chances. Witham did score a fourth half way through the second half when Ryan Burns tried to deal with a dangerous cross and the ball ended up in the back of the net.

Bramley did get a consolation goal through perseverance and hard work from all 10 on the pitch when Sam Clifford set Jack Kemp up 30 yards out with Jack’s volley looping the Witham keeper.

Hugely proud of the lads that slogged it out for 90 minutes already a man down.

Preparations for next season can now begin.

Sundays vs Skillington:

Skillington had the perfect start going 2 up within the first ten minutes a nightmare start for Bramley,

32 mins a ball played through for Chris Rice left him one on one with the advancing keeper the shot came off the inside of the near post and Declan Cull slotted home.

Bramley pressure left us exposed at the back resulting in Skillington getting their third before the break.

Second half started well for Bramley with Chris Rice finding Jack Brennan who finished to make it 3-2 and 4 minutes later George Burgess played a through ball to Chris Rice who took it early firing into the top corner to make it all square.

Mistakes cost us in the end with Skillington scoring 2 more leaving the final score 5-3.

Thursday vs Farnsfield Stags:

Bramley really turned up in the first half and despite going 1 down looked a massive threat with a fair few chances.

The equaliser came when Sam Clifford was bought down in the box and he calmly converted from the spot.

The second half was one to forget with Farnsfield dominating large parts and scoring 4 goals in the second half.

Onto the last game of the season Sunday.
