🔥 ANCHOR FITNESS PT GROUP 🔥

For anyone looking to get involved in this lil group I’ve made, please follow the link at the end of this post to get started. There will be a few questions, please answer them all so I can make your home-based programme specific to you.

In these unprecedented times a lot of people are taking a hit financially due to their work place being closed, PTs and fitness instructors who work solely 1-2-1 are included in that. In light of this, I will not be charging people for this service as I want as many people to get involved in exercise as possible and to keep mental health and moral high by creating a support network which everyone can access. However, if you would like to make a voluntary contribution to support me that would be greatly appreciated. The last question in getting access to this group will ask that, so if you do wish to contribute I will message you privately.

Looking forward to getting this up and running, and let’s see what we can achieve together! 💪🏻💙

After lots of thinking and conversations with colleagues and friends in the fitness business, I have decided that I will NOT be taking 1-2-1 PT sessions or group sessions outside. The reason for this is my personal opinion based on government guidelines.

Quoting an article (which you’ll find in the next photo), EMD UK advise that all group exercise, small group training, boot camps etc should be suspended until at least April 30th. Tying this in with government advice to limit social contact with others unless it is essential, I feel the responsibility as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer to suspend any 1-2-1 contact with clients and to avoid encouraging groups of people coming together.

Avoiding social interaction and halting PT sessions is the last thing I want to do, and while it is not a decision I have taken lightly, it is for the best interest of my clients, friends and family, and I would want to see other people taking the risks associated with the virus seriously too.

HOWEVER, what I am going to offer is a closed Facebook group which will have workouts, recipes, 1 live workout session per week, challenges, competitions, and to create a support network for fitness enthusiasts or beginners who are undergoing isolation. Upon joining, I will create an individualised home-based programme for you which will be updated monthly (as who knows how long this will last 🤷🏻‍♀️) and you will become part of a group where we can share ideas, workouts and things to do for entertainment! If you would like to get on board with this, or have any questions then send me a message 😊

Although we knew this was coming, it’s with sadness that we’ve had to close the gym due to Government advice. Doesn’t quite hit you till it happens!

I will be working over the weekend to devise a plan for clients, whether you’d like outdoor sessions, home exercise sessions, or just a workout plan to do for yourself. I will also be extending this out to anyone who is not a client of mine, so if anyone is interested and would like any further information then please send me a message.

If this situation highlights anything, it’s that we should be working to support each other and help where we can. Shop at local businesses, offer to help with deliveries for those who are vulnerable, and be kind to one another.

On 13th September I will be running the New Forest Half Marathon with my PT client to support her and to raise funds for Marie Curie 💙

Nicola has also signed up to the Portsmouth Marathon on 20th December, which I am hoping to run with her too 🥶

Back day 🏋🏻‍♀️

Tried to hit a new PB today - 115kg didn’t like me today 🥵 got 1 rep of 110kg which was my PB to date, so I’m happy I still have that strength after hitting the cardio hard in the past few weeks 👌🏻 thanks to Matt Tickner and GymAntics for their best efforts to pump me up 😂👏🏻

📉 WEIGHT LOSS 📉

Swipe to the ➡️ to see first hand that weight loss ain’t linear. That graph goes from 1st Dec to today (4th Feb). Mid/end November I weighed in at 78.6kg and on the 4th Feb I weighed in at 72.2kg 💪🏻

There’s always going to be daily fluctuations in weight, whether that’s due to food/water consumption from the day before, amount of activity done, or for females, hormone changes.

It’s NORMAL to have daily changes in weight. Don’t be disheartened because your weight is a few kg up from the day before, stay on track and trust the process. Consistency is key 🔐

In addition, it’s okay to have the odd pizza or “high-calorie” food every once in a while. It won’t throw you off your goals. Just factor it into your daily calorie intake, and if you do go over then don’t get beat down by it. Reset and go again tomorrow.
