2024 has arrived. Star & Crescent Bowling Club are all hoping for a more successful year than 2023.

As a men's bowling club we are located at Waverley Bowls in the heart of Southsea. We are always happy to welcome new members andvthisvyear is no different. Being a small club we can guarantee that all members will get-together play in league matches against other teams.

There's no better way to start your journey in this ancient, exciting sport. If itcwas good enough for Sir Francis Drake then why not join us for a season?

The bowling greens around Portsmouth are very green this year after the unseasonaly wet and cool July & early August. It looks beautiful but makes the play heavy. Normally by now the greens would be more brown.......if you get what I mean. We are playing over the water tonight and the going is heavy for the time of year.

The bowls season draws to a close earlier than non-players realise. We are in the last week or so of the leagues and competitions as the evening light is failing by 9pm. 6.30pm and the shadows are already getting long on the green at Rowner.

Star & Crescent Bowling Club shares facilities with Waverley Bowls Club at the bowling green and club on Waverley Road in Southsea.

Besides having without doubt the best bowling green in the Portsmouth area we also have a superb clubhouse with good value drinks. The club house also offers a great location for events and is available to hire.

Social Membership, for those who wish to use the club by not play bowls is also available at £25.00 per year.
