Dear Everybody,
There is not a lot I can add to all the glowing reports we have had from our appearance at the Blackpool Opera House. Miss Karen and our pupils have done it again. Brilliant choreography, brilliant dancing not only from our own pupils, who as usual made us feel so proud but also with the addition of ten pupils from the DBA School of Dance with whom Karen worked her magic to help us put on once again a memorable performance.

Dear Everybody,
After fiddling around on my PC and phone for a good hour I have given up trying download two photos to show you. The one below is a compromise. It is Cam two years ago still a student at the Emhurst. He is now dancing professionally and I was able to join his family on a trip to Dublin to see him dance with Ballet Ireland. It was so good that three of us, Carol, Jacky and I went back again on the second night - and it was even better. Three excellent ballets and a small troupe of dancers, each of whom had very prominent roles in all the ballets and they were all so good. We all admitted that on the first night our eyes were mainly on Cameron so on the second night we sat back and enjoyed the whole thing.
Now photo number two is very personal and because of the age of the young man involved I can't go back and find an earlier photo. On Friday morning I became a great-grandma. Sonny, Victor Sereno Johnson was born to Sam and Hannah on Friday morning. I was able to go round and have quite a long cuddle. I don't know how many arms he had been handed to over the course of the day but he didn't care as long as he was comfortable.

TWO NOTICES.
1. I need to know as soon as possible, preferably before the weekend is out, who is going to go to Blackpool by coach. Remember it is not just for pupils but family and friends as well. I cant let you know the price of tickets until I know the size of coach we need and how many people are using it.
2. I have been given July 1st for our ballet exams but with the warning that it was not definite until the final closing date on May 13th. They always warn us about this but it has always been fine in the past. However there is always a first time so keep your fingers crossed and don't get rid of those other dates yet.

Dear Everyone,
I had intended to take a photo of both troupes and our DBA guests rehearsing together for our appearance in Blackpool in May but I got so engrossed in watching them all dance I didn't get round to it. Hopefully there will be another chance.
There is a connection with this photo, which was taken at last year's Blackpool show. I have shown it before and explained why it is such poor quality - the photo, not Karen and the girls who look lovely. We have had to say goodbye to several of our senior troupe this year including Jess and Lauren who are now on the high seas dancing on a cruise ship. However we are so pleased that Jess O'Donnell, Katie Rodmell and Lucy are able to join us for the event. I just love seeing them all when they come back for occasions like this.

Dear Everyone,
I am still wasting a lot of time on my new PC trying to either find things or put them back the way I want them. Thanks to Martin I am getting there. He is even going to install a DVD player because there is a space for it.
A few of our senior troupe turned up yesterday morning to join the junior members in their rehearsal for the Blackpool show. It gave all the lovely DBA pupils, who we are so lucky to have joining us for this event, a chance to see what to look forward to when they rehearse together with the "big" girls in rehearsal. These five were looking really good even without Karen's twins who, after several weeks of rehearsal are now dancing on a cruise ship.
I know the photo is not brilliant but it was the best of a bad lot. I don't whether it is me or my phone but I can often miss shots because when I press the button, and keep pressing it, nothing happens. Which is what happened here. Serves me right for deserting my proper cameras.
