Hello All have not posted on here for a long time but thought I would let those who knew him that Sensei Terry Parker passed away recently. Founder of Jikishin and a legend in Ju Jitsu.

Just wanted to wish every a great Christmas will be closing page soon. Still find it difficult to believe club is no more.

So our club is now closed but the memories live on. I have already thanked many but wanted to give a special mention to Charles Farelly. He was a joy to coach as a child a pleasure to watch him progress to become a black belt and then see him become an excellent coach.

Important club announcement. It is with a heavy heart that I inform all students, parents and ex Students that Wednesday the 11th of December will be the last day of training for Southend Ju Jitsu club. We have been going for about 17 years but unfortunately we can no longer continue. Saturation of martial arts in the area and the popularity of other styles and systems have made it difficult to increase our student base and attendance now is at a level that leaves the club making a loss. We have never been about making money but we do need to break even. There are other Jikishin clubs in Essex that will welcome you if you want to continue to train.

I would like to thank Sensei Roy in particular for his efforts in trying to keep the club running over the last few months and to all those that helped with the club. I would also like to thank Hanshi Brian Herbert and all the Jikishin family for their support and expertise over the years. I also thank Sensei Alan Stone, Sensei Charles Farrelly and Sensei David Patterson.

It has been a real honour for me to coach the club and I have been so proud at the quality of Martial artists we helped develop.

Please try to support the club over its last few weeks and of course we shall raise a glass in farewell.
