Our new parliamentary year begins with a fully staged State Opening of Parliament, where young people lead, debate, and decide the future of our organisation.

At this session, you will:

✨ Recreate a National Tradition

Watch as our "King’s Speech" is delivered, setting out the year’s agenda.

Learn the symbolism and history of the real State Opening in Westminster.

✨ Learn Politics by Doing Politics

Take on the roles of Government, Opposition, and Independents.

Debate the priorities for the year — from education reforms to youth issues.

Understand how procedure, speechmaking, and alliances shape politics.

✨ Skills for Life, Not Just Politics

Build confidence in public speaking and debating.

Learn teamwork, negotiation, and critical thinking.

Explore how civic engagement empowers young people to influence change.

Join us this Monday at St. Edmund’s Hall (SS2 4AS) for a day of engaging, youth-led politics and debate with Mock Parliament — free of charge and open to all levels of experience!

🗓️ Event Agenda – Monday:

🕔 After-School Session (5–6pm)
– Prime Minister’s Questions (25 mins): Your chance to question the PM in a fast-paced mock showdown.
– Second Reading of the Public Services Enhancement Bill (25 mins): Debate and decide on real youth-drafted legislation, learn about economic policy and government spending techniques, such as debating austerity

📣 Exciting Monday Ahead at Mock Parliament! 🗳️🏛️

Next Monday, we'll be meeting at our usual time (5–6PM) and place (St. Edmunds Hall, SS2 4AS) — and it's going to be a big one!

🗳️ Admin Elections are taking place! As a youth-led organisation, our structure is built on democracy, giving young people real responsibility in running the club and shaping its future. If you're passionate about leadership, public speaking or making change — this is your moment.

📜 We'll also be debating the Public Services Enhancement Bill, proposed by our Home Secretary, Aaron Austin. Expect lively discussion and real-world relevance!

All young people aged 11–18 in southeast Essex are welcome — and as always, it's free to attend!

📣 Looking for a Free, Enriching Activity for Your Teen?

We warmly invite young people aged 11–18 in South East Essex to join our Mock Parliament, held every Monday evening from 5pm to 6pm at St. Edmund’s Hall, SS2 4AS – and it's completely free of charge.

This youth-led initiative helps develop vital life skills including public speaking, critical thinking, and political awareness in a welcoming and structured environment. It’s a fantastic way for your child to build confidence, meet like-minded peers, and actively engage in real-world discussion.

At Mock Parliament UK, we have a mission- to get youth turnout and engagement in politics as high as possible. We have been working around the clock since July of last year to get this up and running, but it can only grow truly successful with your help. Your funds will go towards:

Hi all, we in the mock parliament are trying to find a cheap area in Southend to rent out a room or hall in, so we can accommodate young people in the club. We are willing to pay. We're looking at preferably no more than 20 pounds an hour, once a week.
