Quick Grip Guide 🎾
If grips have ever confused you… this will simplify it.
I have numbered the racket 1–8 (there are 8 bevels). For a right-handed player, grips 1–5 are your key reference points.
Left-handed players — same grips, just mirrored:
2 = 8
3 = 7
4 = 6
1 and 5 stay the same
Here’s the simple way to think about it 👇
Each number represents a different grip. If you can learn where your hand sits on these numbers, you can quickly check and adjust without overthinking it mid-rally.
Why this matters:
Your grip directly affects control, spin, and direction. The wrong grip often leads to inconsistency without you realising why.
Quick tip:
Before you hit, take a split second to check where your hand is sitting on the handle. Small adjustment = big difference. Just don’t do this in a match during a rally. Before serving and returning is ok.
Save this so you can refer back to it on court.
