💚 THIS is what personal training is really about.
Three months ago, Mark suffered a stroke.
Once he was given the all-clear to exercise, we started working extremely closely with him — carefully, patiently and very much at his pace.
And if you know Mark… you’ll know he’s a little bit stubborn! 😂
He’ll tell us he can do more.
We’ll tell him to stop. 🙈
He’ll want to carry on.
We’ll tell him it’s time to recover.
And yes… sometimes he probably thinks we’re being a pain! 😂
But that’s the point.
Personal training isn’t always about pushing someone to their absolute limits.
Sometimes it’s knowing when to push, when to modify, when to stop and when to let the body recover.
It’s understanding that every client is different and working with their needs, their abilities and their goals.
And Mark is absolutely SMASHING it. 👏💪
Watching him regain his strength, confidence and independence and get back towards his normal self has been incredible.
One thing that’s often forgotten is the importance of looking after your health before something happens. Mark was extremely fit and healthy before his stroke, and that level of fitness and strength gave him a fantastic foundation to work from during his recovery.
It doesn’t mean things can’t happen — unfortunately, they can.
But being strong, active and healthy can put your body in the best possible position to face whatever life throws at you.
And with the right professional support, patience and consistency, getting healthy and getting stronger really can be life-changing. 💚
Keep going Mark. We’re incredibly proud of you. 👏
