We’re delighted to announce the appointment of our new Assistant General Managers!

Creating career opportunities is something we’ve aspired to for a long time, and we’re excited to have reached a stage where it’s now possible

As we’ve continued to grow both Brooke and Ben have been a huge support to the gyms, our brilliant team and amazing members, making them fantastic choices for these new roles

They’ll be taking on greater responsibility for the day-to-day operations, supporting and developing our team, and helping Elite achieve all its capable of

⚠️ Extreme Heat Alert 🚨

The combination of extreme temperatures, high humidity and tropical nights will make for a few challenges this week

Widespread impacts on infrastructure is expected and the gym is not immune to those impacts

We’ll of course be maxing out the AC across both our gyms, however, it’s still going to be challenging

Adjustments will be required so that you can train safely in these conditions

💧 stay hydrated, drink plenty of water throughout the day and throughout any training session

👕 wear light weight, loose fitting appropriate gym clothing - tops must remain on at all times

😅 adjust the intensity of your sessions. You will be much hotter than normal, your body temperature will be starting much higher. Take longer rest periods. Back off the volume, reps, weights, cardio levels. You won’t lose ground, gains and progress - it’s still going to feel tough and the sessions will be as effective

⏰ if you can avoid peak times, where the volume of bodies in the gym will have an impact, please do. There are plenty of hours in the day where the gym is quieter and more comfortable in these conditions

Keep safe and remember to check in on each other, the elderly and the vulnerable 💚

EF Southend we have you covered too 👀

A second stairmaster delivered. Also requiring a little touch of Elite TLC before it’s ready for use, but it’s here and almost ready 🥰

Plus, these very beefy free standing benches to replace the ones that have served us well for many years 🙌

They’ll of course get reupholstered during the next round of maintenance 💪

Just when you thought the equipment additions and upgrades had finished with the pullover and dip machines 💚

Plus, 2 more treadmills 😅

(One tread just needs a little extra tlc before it’s ready for use)

But the cardio section looking well stacked after a little shuffle around to get it all in 🔥

It’s definitely been the year for more and more kit across both our gyms 💚
