⚔️ FULL TIME | A TALE OF TWO GAMES ⚔️
A mixed afternoon for the Spartans, but plenty to take from both games! 💛💙
🟡 FIRSTS 3-0 FLEMING ATHLETIC 🟠
Missing 13 players gave a few lads the chance to step up and show exactly what they can do — and they certainly didn’t disappoint. 👏
It was never really in doubt, despite a pretty ropey second half! 😂
C💫 opened the scoring after Jake Tankard (who, by the way, should have been on a hat-trick by this point 😬) won the ball back. Some neat football followed before it dropped to Cody, who calmly tucked it away.
Then came Ryan Goodwin x2. ⚽⚽
The first came after Ryan broke the offside trap before needing an acrobatic second attempt to finally get it over the line 😂, while his second was a much tidier finish from a pull-back late on.
A comfortable 3-0 in the end, with the second half leaving a little to be desired — but never really any danger of Fleming getting back into it.

🔵 RESERVES 1-2 WOOLSTON WANDERERS 🔴
The Reserves went down 2-1, with plenty of players once again getting the opportunity to step up and demonstrate their prowess against a Woolston side playing in the Firsts league.
opened the scoring after already having a great chance early on. Jacob Weems saw his effort saved, while Liam Bolton had the Woolston keeper worried for a moment with a long-range effort. 👀
Then came two quick-fire goals from Woolston to turn the game around.
The lads kept pushing, but Woolston held on late on — helped by a great penalty save and an absolutely ridiculous acrobatic save to deny Sam late on. 🧤🔥
Not the result we wanted, but another valuable run-out and plenty of positives for the lads stepping up.
