KOGS King Olaf's Golf Society

Well KOGS got off to a very blustery start at Salusbury and S Wilts on Thursday 30th with 22 on the course and myself restricted to the clubhouse due to a no buggy rule on the day. Mention too for Phil Richards who hit a pothole on his way there, spent 3 hours waiting for the AA and has bill of nearly £150 for new tyre.
On the course Nik NIKANDROU / Gordon JOHNSTON / Jamie WATTS all posted 34 points with Jamie winning G1 and Nik winning G2
Several guys were at the other end with 21 points but newest member Chris EVENNETT took the wooden spoon.
A solid start to the season and next month we visit HOCKLEY on Wednesday 26th April - hope to see a good turnout.
For me it was frustrating not to play and my 300 consecutive events came to an end ! Cheers everyone.

Well 2022 season is over and in the picture are the two big winners. Holding the Summer Salver ( Darren WHITE on the right) also came out on top in the prestigious Gold cup, the Seniors cup and the Group 1 cup - a reward for consistent 34 to 38 points golf at most events. On the left is the Club secretary / treasurer Phil SAYER who came out on top thanks to a late surge of form since July, which secured the Veterans ( over 66 age group) and the Group 2 cup.
Also at Royal Wi******er this week the worthy winner of the Frostbite shield with 38 points was Anthony Taylor Still ( 8 handicap) one of our newest members.
Many thanks to the 40 to 45 KOGS members who supported our 35th season. We will be back in the New Year.

It seems someone who has accessed the Kogs web page has sent messages to all the Kogs followers pretending to be Phil Sayer - as the top Gooner I can assure you its NOT from your Kogs secretary - do NOT enter into dialogue ( one talks about doctors appts apparently) - just IGNORE please or they will get into your followers etc ...

If anyone gets a Friend request from me - IGNORE IT - it has Not come from me at Kogs etc

It's just under 3 weeks until the final Kogs event this season so on Wednesday 26th October about 25 players will be fighting not only for the Frostbite shield, but hoping to put in some good scores to shape the final positions in the 5 season long competitions.
Tony Mitcheson will be trying to stop Darren White in the Gold and G1 cups. Whilst Phil Sayer ( who looks to have enough safety margin to win the Vets cup) will be going head to head with Phil Richard's and Daleep Pandey for the G2 cup. The results will appear here at the end of the month

Well the 3rd event of the season at Meon Valley went well despite the reduced field of just 22 players. Tough day with average score of just under 27 points. Top of each group were Darren WHITE ( on his home course) winning Group 1 with 33 points and a tight win in Group 2 for Daleep PANDEY who edged out Ian Stewart - both scoring 34 points, and just in front of Dave Wightman with 33. Brian Medway was at the other end of the field with just 19 points. We look forward to a return to big fields with 36 players due to attend our next event in July at North Hants Golf Club in Fleet.
