Hi everyone,

We're back this week with lessons starting on Wednesday 31st Jan with the schedule as below:

Wednesdays @ Glen Eyre Hall

Beginners Ballroom and Latin - 6pm-7.45pm - £5/6 for members/non-members
Nov/Int/Adv Ballroom - 8pm-9pm - £4/5 for members/non-members
Nov/Int/Adv Latin - 9pm-10pm - £4/5 for members/non-members
(Novice and Int/Adv run as two separate simultaneous lessons)

PRACTICE SPACE:
Mon-Fri - 9am-1pm - Activties Room
Weds - 5pm-6pm - Glen Eyre Hall
Sat - 1pm-5pm - Glen Eyre Hall
Sat - 6.30pm-9.30pm - Activities Room
Sun - 5pm-9.30pm - Activities Room

We will be continuing the Friday Beg/Nov workshops once we have confirmation of a space, stay tuned for info on that.

We are also accepting any new members and will be running an additional beginners lesson at the same time as the current session for any of those who missed joining at the beginning of the year. No previous experience needed and your first session will be FREE!

Timetabled classes start 11th October with Fridays starting 27th October due to availability.

~Joint SUBLDS and Salsa Social 💃 ~

We are having another joint social with Salsa Soc this Friday 28th at Jesters!

Please come any time from 11pm to dance the night away and meet some new people and maybe learn some new dance moves…

TASTER SESSION ALERT!

Our Beginner lessons will be resuming Monday 8pm-10pm in Garden Court, at the back of Stags! We will now be running 2 sessions side by side! There will be Beginners+, for our current members looking to continue learning and a new Beginners class for completely new members!

If you want to give Ballroom and Latin a try, come along tomorrow for a completely FREE lesson! We'll teach you some Waltz and some Cha Cha Cha and that will hopefully be enough for you to catch the ballroom bug!

Our Novice and Intermediate lessons will also be resuming on Wednesdays in Glen Eyre 7.30pm-10pm. We would also like to invite our competing Beginners along to the Novice lessons if they want to get some extra dancing in before Blackpool!

A big well done to anyone who competed at Birmingham yesterday, you all smashed it and we can't wait to see you keep getting better!

💥Refreshers Socials - Two Socials!💥

We are hosting two socials next Wednesday, 1st February to welcome old and new members into the society.

The first is scoops in Portswood, where you can join us for a sweet treat after the lesson on Wednesday, starting around 10:15 pm.🍦

Our other social is Latin Night at Orange Rooms in Bedford Place. This club has an evening dedicated to Latin music to practice your dance moves! The meeting time will be 10:30-10:45 after the lesson. 💃

Please don’t forget IDs, and if you would like to come to Orange Rooms, see a committee member in your lesson for wristbands or send us a message 😁

Hi everyone!

Reading's Ballroom Society are hosting a training camp on the 4th February at the University of Reading from 11am until 7/8pm. They will have lectures in W/Q/C/J coming from guest lecturers with some yet to be announced. So far they have announced the following:

For Ballroom:

Mark and Olga Elsbury: 16 times Closed UK Ballroom Amateur Champions

Steven and Yasmin Arnold: IVDC Adjudicators, Professional Rising Star Finalists at the International Championships, Finalists of the Professional British National Championships.

For Latin:

Sharon Vickers: International Representative for the UK, 2007 New York Latin Champion, 2008 runner-up European Latin 4 Dance and 8 Dance Champion, 2007 World Latin runner-up. Ex- Choreographer on Strictly Come Dancing. Our current Ballroom and Latin Teacher at Reading University. Current dance adjudicator and dance instructor and trained team Barbados for Blackpool.

If you want to come, fill out this form before this Friday 27th at 1pm and we'll book your place. It will cost around £25/£30 for the day which is excellent value and will be really useful in preparation for Blackpool! We'll ask on the form about who can car share so don't worry, we'll make sure you can get there!
