This says it all about TLC For Horses , what a review â€ïž
Hi Ros, I have posted my review on FB .
I would just like to say that I had the most wonderful afternoon with Ros Snowdenâwhat a ladyâalong with her beautiful granddaughter Bryony and all the lovely girls who help care for the most stunning horses.
I initially contacted Ros to explain that I have a fear of horses, stemming from being kicked in the face and mouth as a young child. Ros was incredibly kind and understanding, and she reassured me that she would be happy to gently introduce me to some ponies.
I was meant to arrive at 2pm, but I became so overwhelmed and anxious that I struggled to concentrate on the directions Ros had given me. I felt physically sick, hot, and clammy, and ended up over an hour late. At one point, I even gave up trying to find TLC Horses Warsash altogether.
However, Ros was so kind and patientâshe kept calling me back, reassuring me, and even waited for me to arrive. That alone says so much about the kind of person she is. Wowâwhat a lady. She is truly incredible⊠a real-life horse whisperer.
I keep replaying the experience in my head. Ros entered the exercise ring with a sassy chestnut mare called Sereneâwhich felt quite ironic, as she was being quite feisty and full of attitude. Ros explained that confidence is key, and that horses can sense fear, sometimes trying to overpower or intimidate if they pick up on it.
What I witnessed next was breathtaking. Serene was galloping around the enclosure, full of energy, while Ros calmly walked inside the ring. Each time Serene approached or headed straight towards her, Ros simply raised her arms wide and high. Instantly, Serene would turn away and continue circling.
This happened three timesâeach time Ros stood her ground, calm but confident, and each time Serene backed off.
Then everything changed. Ros lowered her arms and turned her body slightly to the side. Almost immediately, Serene stopped galloping and slowly walked towards her, lowering her head until it was almost touching Rosâs. Ros began to walk, and Serene walked with herâside by sideâas they calmly moved together in a circle.
It was so peaceful, so connected, and so powerful to watch. In that moment, I understood why she was called Serene. You could clearly see the love and trust she had for Ros.
Ros explained that this was called âhorse workmanship,â and I was completely in aweânot only of her skill, but of her kindness and the way she teaches all the young girls there. The patience, respect, and care she showsâboth to the horses and to the people around herâis truly special.
By the time I left, I had patted and scratched three horses with the help of Bryony, and I could hardly believe that my anxiety and fear had completely subsided. I stood there taking in my surroundingsâthe beautiful sunshine, the calm ponies, and the peaceful atmosphere. The entire place felt so relaxing; I honestly could have stayed all day and into the night.
Ros is truly one special person. She even made me laugh at the endâshe didnât quite trust me to find my way back to the car, so kindly gave me a lift up the track!
I cannot recommend TLC Horses Warsash enough. Whether youâre looking to learn to ride or thinking about lessons for your child, youâll be getting so much more than just riding instructionâyouâll feel like part of a family and wonât want to leave.
Thank you, Ros đ
