McDonnell-Haynes School of Irish Dance Irish dancing lessons for children and adults in Shirley The McDonnell-Haynes School of Irish Dance was founded by qualified teacher Charlotte Haynes TCRG.

Prior to setting up the classes in Southampton, Charlotte continued dancing and teaching in Singapore and was actively involved in the St Patrick's Society of Singapore. Charlotte is now running classes for children and adults of all abilities in Shirley. Having found a fantastic venue based near Shirley Road Charlotte looks forward to offering a fun and challenging class promoting traditional Iri

sh culture through dance and music. The basic techniques are taught and the love of dance encouraged in a fun and energetic way. As dancers progress they can take part in public displays and school competitions and shows. Dancing for a certified member school, dancers are eligible to compete in Irish feisenna if they wish. At all times, fun, enjoyment, confidence, performing and an appreciation of this dance form is promoted. We look forward to welcoming you!

The time has come for me to take a break from running MCDH Irish dance. Thank you to all the dancers and parents for my surprise show/party in July.

I was well and truly overwhelmed and touched at the time and effort that they all made. The decorations, the cake, inviting past dancers and friends, the dancing, the gifts and in particular the photo memory book with such lovely words and the words in the card - they really do mean so much to me! 😢☺️

I wish all dancers and their parents lots of luck as they continue their dance journey. Those that are retiring, I wish you all the best at college and your first jobs. Remember to always smile and enjoy what you do! Charlotte ☘️💜💚😊
