School years 5 & 6

These sessions continue to develop key netball skills and slowly introduce the athletes to more technical and tactical play through the 5v5 playing format as this assists with decision making and plenty of time on the ball. Focus on fun and continuing to develop the person not just the player, we are starting to get these ballers ready to transition across to competitive club netball. All year 6 players will automatically be offered a place at our sister club Sparks Allstars Netball Club when they progress to year 7 if they have not been invited to join Sparks before this time.

🧨 We’ve been a little quiet on the socials this term, however we’ve been having loads of fun across all our sessions. So much so we’re going to post a video for each class type for you to see what we’ve been up to so far this year.

First up our youngest ballers, Buzzers! A class for children in school years R-2 for what is probably their first experience of ‘playing’ netball. These sessions are very much focused around fun with lots of games to ensure everyone is interacting throughout the session. These tiny athletes will be introduced to the very basics of netball - passing, catching, shooting, the footwork rule etc - via engaging activities and small sided games. However, it’s not just netball skills that are developing; communication, leadership, confidence, resilience, team work, self-awareness, decision making and autonomy are also being nurtured. We’re not just creating Netballers for the future court, but children that can blossom off the court too.

That’s a wrap for 2025 🎄🎅🏽🧨! We’ve been a bit quiet on our socials recently, however as you can see in the video we have been busy having lots of Bee Netball fun over the last few weeks. Lots of of new faces, loads of progress and development but most importantly lots of happy Netballers. ❤️💛 As we head in to week 2 of our term at Ignite Netball see what some of our youngest players got up to last week. Our sessions always focus on fun and enjoyment whilst introducing movement skills and netball skills at an age appropriate level and then developing and building on these across the season. Not only do our sessions teach netball skills, these little netballers are also learning skills for life; teamwork, communication, leadership, resilience, independence to improve their belief in their own ability.
